    As tight as the bolts on the water pump pulley were I wonder what torque specs the factory used 😊 Good work Tim !

    Tim - Do you know what sucks big time about your videos? It's the ending of each video.
    -- When one is done I'm left in total thumb drumming on my desk agony in total withdrawal mode as I wait for that spirit lifting, brain recharging feeling that fills me, mind and body, with a rejuvenating man can fix anything feeling as I hear that sound spitting forth from my computer speakers telling me .... "You've Got a New Video from The Car Doctor". I tell ya bud, waiting for those words is like having a hard on while you're wearing baseball gloves on each hand. Waiting just plain ole suxors big time for sure.

      This winter has been the first in a while where it feels like it used to. I think climate change is a real issue. Don't know if its as much to do with humans as other factors but I wont argue that it certainly is happening. Maybe we all need to drive Honda Insights. Or better yet, bicycles.

    Torque wrenches for small stuff isnt really critical, ive told people to use a short wrench to limit there mustle power.

    Hey Bud I thought of something while watching you finish this video. Wouldn't it be a great video series if you made a few videos on "How to properly use and maintain regular and specialty tools commonly used in auto repair". You know the real life info and knowledge from a trusted and respected mechanic like yourself.
    -- What kind of actual videos do I refer too? I don't know and wouldn't even guess as to which to shoot. Especially to someone as knowledgeable as you, a master tech that has been doing this type of work since the Good Lord wore diapers.
    -- I reckon stuff like using Torque Sticks and Impacts and maybe brake rotor and drum machining, maybe even steering alignment. Who knows what to make a really good and most of all trusted video that is real life info for us DIY'r shade-tree honest wanna-be good mechanics who just want to learn and do it right. Heck man, there's probably a Santa Sleigh full of ideas on a wide range of tools and such that you could make videos on.

    to be fair with those rubber seals you can feel them squish out and when it gets solid just stop tightening

    • @ThecardoctorTV
      @ThecardoctorTV  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had a Honda timing belt and water pump job the other day and it probably felt a little strange when tightening but not sure I could tell. Lucky for me I noticed a drip of coolant before I put the covers on. I removed it to find the seal had a small spot where it must have popped out or something. That's probably why I said something here. I also had valve cover gaskets in a buick that I had hot tanked the covers and put new gaskets on but they would just pop out when I turned the covers over to install. So stupid when they make junk like that. I don't like using glue to hold the gaskets in since that's hard to clean up if you ever go back in but I might start using it more on stuff like this. Anyway thanks for the tip. Ill keep that in mind as well. Take it easy!

    • @thehondafitguy

      The Car Doctor for this style gasket a trick I’ve used is petroleum jelly on water pumps and tacky grease for valve covers. Holds them in there while you’re fiddling around.

I told the wife it's all her fault ... if there wasn't grape fluids around the house there wouldn't be different colored ceilings. Now I gotta go convince her to drink More Beer instead. Maybe I can convince her it's the new trend in ceiling paints. Wish meh luck!!! "Hey Hon ... You know it's 2017 not 1965 .... aint it time to... " Sorry I couldn't finish that sentence.
