    Brandon, I would personally want the gate a bit further back away from the road. It would give you more room to be off the highway and give delivery driver's an area to turn around off the highway. It would be so much safer if you made a area for people to turn around safely. Also when you are hauling a trailer it would get the trailer off the road too. Just a few thoughts. Ultimately it's your decision whatever you decide is whatever works for you. The deer plot sure looks beautiful! Give it time, I know around here the farmers just cut their corn so the deer are having a field feast. After they've eaten the corn from the fields they'll be everywhere on the deer plot. Thanks for sharing! Much Love from our family to your family 💞

    It is great to see you are getting gates set back so you are off the highway. I know this is something Stephanie has been wanting. Much safer getting your vehicles off the road.

    You might want the second option because you'll have more room entering your property. I think that's what Daniel did at their place.its great for deliveries too. It's great seeing things come together for you.

      Cog Hill has theirs set back too. They're on a highway too. Doss farm (Chad) has his set back as well. It's so nice to get off road before getting out to open and/or delivery trucks as well.

  • @karenmoore-pr6gu
    @karenmoore-pr6gu ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I like the idea of the gate further down, just thinking of bigger trucks having to make deliveries. That way, they won't have to worry about stopping partway on the road.

  • @trudiharmon7640

    Hi Brandon. I prefer option one as long as it’s wide enough for the lorries to get in whilst building your home. Defo safe to get the trailer in off the road first then the gates open. Hope the traps start beginning to work. Great to see gates to get in to the animals too. That bike is awesome to get around on. Have a great weekend take care and God Bless. 💕🙏

    Options for the front gate. First option is a bit like I had in mind. Gate set back with a turn in section to make it easier for the trailers. Having the gate that much further in does make it for longer trailers but it's going to leave you with a stretch of grass that will be harder to maintain due to it being narrow but long.
    Having a radio call button at the top, linked to your phones, a bit like a Ring Doorbell, will also make it easier for visitors.
    Love you all. ❤‍🔥

    Put the road gate farther back to give room for delivery driver to pull off road..such as FedEx and UPS ..that way their not blocking the road and won't have to risk getting run over when they get out of truck...thank you from a truck driver that has dodged UPS drivers that stepped out into the road..

    You're so correct. Teach your kids hands on. They learn so much quicker than just watching or reading about it. Probably the same way your Dad taught you. Glad to see you spending time with your Dad.❤E bikes are so fun. Glad you're enjoying yours. Fat tires are the way to go! We've had ours a few years now. We've found several bike trails around here. Rails to trails converted old railroad tracks to bike and hike trails all over the US. We load our bikes and head to PA often. Depending on how much you peddle or how much you weigh, mileage will vary. Several beautiful trails along the Allegheny river mountain area. I'm sure you have some cool trails in your state. So much safer than on the street. Makes for a beautiful day. As far as the gate goes, the further off the road the better ❤ Good job on the gates!! Thanks as always!

  • @mikehenry6284
    @mikehenry6284 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I agree with the first option regarding the gate. We had our property set up very similar on our ranch. We would turn onto our driveway from the street, and our truck and horse trailer would both fit on our driveway, then open our gate to get back to our barns, corals, etc. Definitely great idea 😃. Ok, back to watching the rest of the video. Love y'all ❤️ Jennifer

    Gate option number 1 is what I would do! Then I’d put a couple of bushes or plants or bushes and a big rock or stone. and some ground cover (gravel, pea gravel, mulch) then your entrance will look amazing. Oh add a farm sign! You’ll have a grand entrance that looks amazing and is safer with better access for trailers and equipment!! Good luck can’t wait to see what you come up with

    Hello family,I absolutely love that bike, it looks so much fun. I think it is a great idea, to pull into the driveway and have your gate there after. Yes your children are beautiful, I especially enjoy listening to the baby.

    I know you’re putting gates up I would consider your front entry gate all right but then again, I would put fencing and another gate further back to keep all your animals away from the front of the property if they go through the front gate goodness the Lord only knows what could happen on that road You know how Fred went through the fence into the neighbors yard can you imagine what would happen with the goats and the llamas running up the driveway and out into the street I’m just thinking for safety purposes for you and the family I don’t want to see any other animals get hurt in the road😢

    The first idea for your gates was what we did for each of our into & out of our property. This was our truck w/our trailer is off the road. We have 3 different places to get out of our property whether we are having something delivered to our property or the weather here in our Arizona desert 🏜 we can have flash flood due to heavy rain which we do get some years.
    U need an auger when I are putting up post. We've been using those bags of cement in the post holes around out property. Yes just put water in & poke some holes in the mixture so the water gets down. The holes get filled in as water & cement mix. It drys pretty quickly. These bags of cement are a game changer from how we use to do cement. I think U should be happy with it. Braydon, U know the saying is work smarter not harder. U being a cop like husband so I know
    wrestling with people to get them arrested it takes a toll on your body. So please listen to your body. Stephanie, my hubby spent 26yrs with Phoenix Police Department here in Arizona. He's now 72yrs old & has had 3 shoulder surgeries, had a bone carved off his left hip to.make a collar bone for his right shoulder, been run over by a car, his left knee & ligaments have been replaced in his left leg, his right knee needs to be replaced also, he has bulged disk & some other things up & down his back from a drunk woman who hit his police car 3 times. She pushed her Dad's wheel chair down the apartment stairs, put her 3 babies in his car in backseat not even buckled in. She hit 5 cars & my husband. He ended up putting his car in front of her so she couldn't get on 1 of our freeways. She spun his police car 180 degrees. When w
    he got her stopped enough he jumped out pushed her over grabbed her keys the open back door grab the kids & handed off to people from the apartment complex that was watching this crazy lady hitting cars in their parking lot. She was drunk No license or insurance Would U believe she told the Judge she had to drive her Dad around because he was crippled the Judge dismissed the tickets & no fines. Mike & all the people that she hit in that apartment complex were mad 😠 Mike hurt his back in that accident. His right wrist swells up because he has no cartilage due to a fight he was in with this black guy that ended fighting 6 officers because he knew he was headed back to prison. The hand Specialist told Mike if he had the surgery there was a high chance he wouldn't be able to draw his gun. Which Mike said No surgery he wouldn't put himself, other officers or public in harms way if he did surgery. So about every 6-12 months he get a steriod shot in his wrist. Mike would have went to 30yrs on the department but his full knee replacement the department made him take a Medical Retirement which it took him a year to except & @ 2am I took him to his station to empty out his locker. Mike had watched a friend/officer on his squad get shot & was dieing in his squad car while Mike was pinned down by the shooter. They had to bring in an armor bank truck to get to this officer which an officer had to sit on top of the dead officer to get the car & officer away from the shooter. I took Mike in to see the Police/Firer Psychiatrist after the shooting & funeral. If Mike had come in the same way he would have been killed. After Mike's knee replacement he died 3 times so his night terrors came back even stronger.
    Your place looks better & better every video.
    God Bless U all & Keep the Family Safe❤🙏❣

Because they have to have enough room to make those turns in and out of it . Maybe watch some videos n the big rigs and you’ll see what I mean. If not they will have to drive on the property across the street just to make the turns.

    If y’all have a tarp or some kinda plastic you can make a water shoot from the fence to the pond so more of the water gets to the pond. A slip and slide would be perfect for what I’m thinking in my head. Lol.
    Y’all’s property looks beautiful. I love it. You all have done so much to it. It’s crazy.

    you need to decide the largest trailer you may ever get( not the one you have now) plus the length of your truck and hitch. All that needs to be able to get off the road before the gate. that is the distance to the gate. That way you don't have to move it later.

    If i had the money i would build a draw bridge over my creek at the entrace to my property to make tresspasers unable to drive on. But of your two choices i think i like the first one for most situations and secound if you plan on having really wide loads coming into the property.

    Until you can get more gates, with your carpentry skills you can make gates with scrapes of lumber. Greetings from Southeastern Kentucky.
