You know you get busy living life. Now in my late 50s im starting to think about taking on a new dog. Something challenging and fun. It was alway my dream to go to europe and pick a real winner of a sport dog. My last boy was a GSD ,one of gento van haus lorins relations. What a dog. Always thanks for the great clips

My brother got a all black German shepherd police dog from Germany. And he’s beautiful. Looks like no other that I’ve seen.. Me myself own 2 American Akitas and I love them so much. They’re my kids 🤣🤣
I just got a Czech pup and believe me, they have drive!!! I've had West German dogs, East German dogs and Czech dogs. Without a doubt, my Czech pup has drive plus. I'm expecting great results with this dog.
@@52Blue1 The Czech dogs are bred and trained as border dogs. That is to patrol a fence. By DDR I'm assuming you mean the East German dogs. One thing I can tell you is the East German bloodlines are only about thirty years old as far as them getting imported to the US. The Czech line came from these East German bloodlines. The West German dogs have been around for many years and, unfortunately, been subject to a lot of bad breeding over this long period of time.
Laughing my butt off at what a sweetie Mace turned into...in Haz's hands of course - I'm sure he would still be a gangster with any new handler. I gotta say though, Haz can pick'em better than most. It's funny watching this video knowing how well everything turned out not just with Mace but with Sky & the rest.
When you’re testing the dogs In the bitework are you only doing that sort of test on a little more mature of a dog? Would you do a similar test (boogie man type test with your hood up) on a younger dog? Under a year?
He would usually only buy dogs a year and older. Due to the fact that dogs change a lot when they mature. You could have a superstar puppy that grows up to be mediocre and you can have puppies that look like they can't do the work grow up to be excellent dogs. So puppies tend to be unpredictable in their quality. While as a year and older dogs are usually the final product, the true final version of the dog. So usually if the dog can't do anything after a year it doesn't have it. Buying adults is the most sure way to get a quality dog. So naturally he mostly tests adult dogs. Now he does have puppy tests but they aren't the same tests he would do with an adult dog.
Question is there a difference between a working police dog and one that people use for pure competition. I hope my question makes sense thanks enjoy your videos
Have you ever worked with the giant schnauzer, boerboel or the Akbash & Kangal type dogs for personal protection/guardian type of work? Would be cool to see some videos training/working with diff species ect if you have the content!
Gaurdian breeds aren't that great for pp because there's a lot of obedience and drive needed. They are more tanks than a more active option like gsd. I do think he's done work with presa though. And I've seen some amazing schnauzers in igp

Why did you go to the Netherlands? That "seller" is not even a dutch breeder. The dogs are bred in numbers in the Czech Republic and shipped to the Netherlands and elsewhere. Those guys are just good at selling their dogs. The seller is not even registered with houdenvanhonden (Raad van Beheer), where you get an official pedigree.
Haz. Question if they are selling you dogs that you consider good. Where are the great dogs they are keeping for themselves as usually they let the dogs go that they don’t want? As a buyer that would be my concern as why are they selling them.
Sometimes a buyer like Haz comes along that looks for things in a green dog in an unconventional way that shows the seller that they just parted with some of their better stock. Curious to see how they approach Haz next time. ie "Here's our most fearless dogs based on what we think you're looking for."

@@kenrickman973 youre absolutely correct about filming in police training facilities but this was just a police vendor and not any dept training group...as for good dogs,he made some nice picks ...netherlands got some average and garbage dogs too like everyone else,despite having an elite program they still put a PD vest on dogs who have repetitive failures to engage

You should see Alderhorst in Riverside, CA. They usually buy 50-75 dogs at a time, every 3-4 months. 95% sold to law enforcement.
