Played so profoundly that words really are not enough to express the feelings of within. Thanks for uploading this transcendental masterpiece of its own rather unusual kind
An outstanding work. I believe Ms. Boyle received instruction from Elgar so it is easy to see she was a gifted composer. Her biography (Cork University Press) gives testament to her difficulties in getting her compositions played in the concert hall. A travesty of justice if ever there was one........
I had never heard any work by this composer until the ABC Classic FM station in Australia played it a few days ago. It is very sad this lovely work is little known.
All Souls Flower A flower has blossomed in this land, 'Twas planted by no mortal hand. A Flower so fair, so clear of hue, Ever its leaves are fresh and new, It grows for our souls' bettering. O, lovely Flower! Blossom and Thorn of Mary's bower, This Flower, it is so pretty a thing, It holds remede for sorrowing, So sweet a sap runs through its veins, As may subdue all griefs and pains, If any man lack heart or mood, Straightway it maketh these losses good. O, Flower of price! Sing we, sing we, of Paradise! This Flower, that is of such nature, Surely it grows in green pasture, Beside some willow-hidden brook Wherein all day the skies look. It grows for all the world to see, It grows beside a bitter Tree, O, Flower of grace, That is, for all our sins, solace.
Prachtige sensitieve muziek die zo diep communiseert, vraagt en antwoord, troost. Schitterend, verdient veel meer aandacht!
Ina Boyle is Amazing. 🎑🫶

All Souls Flower
A flower has blossomed in this land,
'Twas planted by no mortal hand.
A Flower so fair, so clear of hue,
Ever its leaves are fresh and new,
It grows for our souls' bettering.
O, lovely Flower!
Blossom and Thorn of Mary's bower,
This Flower, it is so pretty a thing,
It holds remede for sorrowing,
So sweet a sap runs through its veins,
As may subdue all griefs and pains,
If any man lack heart or mood,
Straightway it maketh these losses good.
O, Flower of price!
Sing we, sing we, of Paradise!
This Flower, that is of such nature,
Surely it grows in green pasture,
Beside some willow-hidden brook
Wherein all day the skies look.
It grows for all the world to see,
It grows beside a bitter Tree,
O, Flower of grace,
That is, for all our sins, solace.
Refined rather senstive Example of careful musical intelligence, indeed.Making exuberant by all means
Deslumbrante.
gerddoriaeth hardd. diolch !
A touch of Brahms and eventually Max Bruch. Thank you.
It sounds as if she must have heard the first of the Bocklin Portraits opus 128 by Reger. But it's none the worse for that!
