first off, loving the guide ! i finally got my first apartment and felt lost on how to start, so thank you for making this! also, for anyone lost on enabling gamepad, it is in system configuration>gamepad settings. i already had it enabled, but i wanted to check to be sure and found it there 😺

Thanks for the resourceful video. I do wish it was a scripted and edited video rather than a live stream, since it probably ended up being twice as slow as it needed to be though.
I'm so glad to hear that this helped explain it for you! It's definitely something that is a bit tricky to figure out when you are first trying it. Took me quite a lot of trial and error as well in the beginning! Keep at it though and you will be a pro in no time \o/
This was absolutely wonderful, exactly what I was looking for! I'd been putting off getting into housing literally for years because I had somehow convinced myself it was super hard. You've convinced me of the contrary! You are an incredibly good and patient teacher too, it was lovely to follow along even a year later :) Also appreciate the precise chapters! thank you thank you thank you m(_ _)m

Got to this vid almost exactly a year that it was posted, finally got my hands on a House(med plot) and have been stumped on what extra things i could do and found this extremely helpful! im goin to watch more what you have here.👍
I was lucky with my FC to nab a medium plot when Ishgard ward released but we never bothered decorating it until recently. Just found your channel and gotta thank you for starting with the basics + staple items for glitching. Will be checking the rest of the videos as I go further in housing.

Haven't gotten far yet but this seems real helpful, so thanks for that. So glad I decided to entertain the random FC invite I got the other day, and now I can say the grind to second lieutenant was definitely worth it.
For console we have to switch to “keyboard” setting to let rotate it (locking it). If not it will turn purple and cancel or fall which in short won’t stay unless we switch
Help how do I place furniture on a loft??? it keeps just sinking me through thanks to the noclip should be noted that I am attempting to use the loft for what I can only assume is its intended purpose
I joined the FFXIV community about a year ago and was looking forward to checking out the housing system. I tried out a few things (such as the lofting glitch you explain here so well) in my apartment, but found myself extremely frustrated with the controls. The tutorials I had found at that time felt lacking as some were for controller players only or went by so fast that they were difficult to follow or didn't explain things in as much detail as they could have. Tour videos and such are great to look at, but it was difficult for me to bridge the gap of total noob to at least a somewhat decent builder. I did manage to float things and attempted a few builds, but eventually gave up as my frustration grew. I had been completely obsessed with WildStar's housing system (the game closed its doors a while back, hence my desire to seek out a game that also had housing), so I'm no stranger to thinking outside the box, but I think it was just my annoyance at having to leave behind a system I was thoroughly comfortable with, and now having to adapt to this new one that led me to be less enthusiastic. After discovering your channel, I'm hoping that I'll be inspired to finally roll up my sleeves and truly dive into FFXIV's housing. I found this particular tutorial to be, at least for me, very informative and helpful and look forward to more similar videos that have that "follow along" feel. As someone who definitely needs a guiding hand at this point in my housing journey, I appreciate your time and effort in sharing your knowledge and resources.

I want to share a house with my friend but it won't let me add it to the sharing list, he's not in the guild and he doesn't have a house or apartment on the same server... what could it be that it won't let me add him to the house?
You mentioned he is not in the guild. If you are trying to add him as a tenant (sharing) to an FC house that will not work since you cannot add people to an FC house, only a personal house. If this is a personal house, be aware that your friend cannot be a tenant of more then 2 houses at once. Also, you as the owner are only allowed to add up to three tenants to your house. Hope maybe something there helps :)
this was UNBEARABLY slow and I had to go to another video, sooooo much stuttering and "uhhh, uhhhh, so... first.... uhhhh..... okay getting ahead of myself, first, we...... so we have the loft.... and....." like aaahhh say the words haha.

I really hate when people post tutorial videos like this. Nobody wants to watch a 2 hour stream with no editing to learn how to do something
