When I bought the AMT '49 Mercury kit in the '70s it was part of their Street Rods line, I really loved the cross ram Max Wedge that was engine option.
I noticed that on Zippi's build of it. Unique option.

Sweet 49 Merc kit!!.. I did the MPC 49 Merc Snap Kit Police Squad car over a year ago .. I think it came out fairly decent..

Pretty kewl kit man. I'm working on the AMT 49 Merc. I like the Revell kit much better.

That's pretty true for the most part.
I built a chopped version of the AMT 49 Merc. If I had known about this kit, I would have started with since it was pre chopped. BUT, then I would have had the fun experience of doing it myself. lol I also built the kit bone stock to show the differences. I should look into the Revell kit so I can revisit a lead sled.
That sounds cool to have a stock/custom pair! There's certainly still enough things to make the Revell different than your current built.

I just might have to locate one of these someday as a mate to the MPC 49 Merc I did over a year ago.. I'm going to a Toy Show tomorrow and a train show in 2 weeks so you never know what I'll end up bringing home.... There will be videos on my finds!!

these Mercury's look awsome i believe foose has one id like to get i actually wouldn't mind finding any mercury id say I'll get it out local soon starting to get few these old revelle kits in and new releases

I would love to get one of these kits and build the 1950 Merc from the movie Cobra.
I've heard lots of good things and Slys Cobra would be a cool one.
I have that one my stash. I don't believe I've ever busted into it.
I'd like to add more of them! This ones earmarked to go along with the 55 and others.
Those are great kits and I think I still have a flatbox version somewhere in the stash?
