Man, she has a great voice! The first thing I thought was the same as you mentioned...there's a slight jazzy tone to her voice at certain parts of the song. When she belts, it's so powerful! And her voice didn't break even in the slightest with all those high notes...so talented, especially since this is live. This is what I like about reaction channels...I get to discover a whole slew of new artists who I might not ever have heard otherwise. For my suggestion, here is another lady who has a beautiful voice and is super talented...Anneke Van Giersbergen! You may remember her fronting the great atmospheric metal band The Gathering for many years. Floor Jansen credits her as the one who influenced her to sing in a metal band. This is a solo acoustic version of the Cyndi Lauper song Time After Time. The song doesn't actually start until approximately the 3 minute mark, but the video is worth watching all the way from the beginning to get an idea of how much of a lovely person she is...and she's funny too! I don’t think “there’s a little bit of R&B” in her. Her whole career pretty much took off as her being THE R&B female vocalist in Korea in 90s and she has continued to maintain her status for almost 3 decades. Only a handful of female vocalists out of 90s are still on top of their games. If you go back and listen to her performances from 90s and 2000s, you would hear a lot of soulfulness in her voice then too. Growing up in SoCal in 8-90s, I’m sure she was heavily influenced by American gospel, pop and R&B. Loved your reaction. That’s right she’s a rabbit hole.
