The print-plate is the worst in this printer. For the rest it is a nice printer. The big plate is warping in my printer so even with some adjustment (some paper) there is no way to get the plate flat to use the whole build-surface without warping. But when you only print in the sweet-spot it will do it´s job sooooo well.
I‘ve bought a second plate which is a bit better than the original one that came with the printer. I guess a good quality thick borosilicate glass would be the solution. But I don’t know where I could buy one that is absolutely flat
Hey, I found your account after lots of searching. I know this is not the right video for it but do you have any idea how I can fix a cut hot end thermistor on a craftbot plus? I'm not sure if you have one
I have no idea what the thermistor of the Craftbot + looks like. You might be able to use a third party thermistor. Would this be the one you are looking for? www.3dprima.com/parts/spare-parts/creatbot/creatbot-thermistor-f-d_23974_5068
Great job and nicely presented video! Never listen to the naysayers on the Internet, they will drag you down. I found a similar model but the XL variant from 2016 on a local second hand website. Any tips on questions I need to ask to the owner? It looks like a great reprap style moddable machine
I would ask if all the linear rails move smoothly. Mine didn’t. But as I found out in my case it was a defective motor and not the linear bearings itself. Another critical thing is the build plate. The bed that I have on the one that I have repaired is quite even. The second one that I bought secondhand had quite a warped build plate. If you buy it please take care to heat up the build platform 20min. prior to printing. The bed is so thick that it will expand quite a bit. The leveling has to be done with a business card. The ones that I use are 0.55mm thick. You should be able to slide them through bed and nozzle with only a very slight resistance. Or you use an offset in the slicer. If you have any further questions please let me know.
@@choschiba thank you! Do you think the XL version is worth 500€ now? Seems quite a lot for such an old model, especially now the bambú labs p1p is out.
