Dude!! I just installed the exact same DNA package in my Interceptor 3 days ago and my reaction was the exact same as yours. Plenty of swears, smiles and giggles as I did a lap of my block. Hahaha
My theory is that RE deliberately strangled the intake to meet the lower HP requirements for the beginner class market in Europe. Between the upgraded air filter and free flowing exhaust, the 650 can really show its potential.
Basically with a freeflow exhaust and air filter the bike then produces the same h.p. and torque at the rear wheel as it previously made at the crankshaft .
Hi Vinny ! I read quite a bit today about the DNA air filter. Yes they do seem a class act and cleaning them and re oiling using the DNA cleaner and oiler seems relatively straight forward. For the Royal Enfield should be what the doctor ordered.
Motorcycle making music! Sounds wicked! RE is really making great steps forward the last few years! Watch out world! Love the shirt too. Never knew that "instant magnetic screwdriver" trick. Clever old fella. Excellent video. 👍👍
Just put this kit on my Royal Enfield Classic 350. It's a great addition for the money, and for sure, there's an improvement! Sound and pull are better than stock, so that's good enough for me! Ride Safe 🙏🏼
I noticed an improvement when I fitted the K&N on my Interceptor ,, sounds great as well . Don't forget to let the bike idle for at least 12 minutes with ZERO !!! throttle after fitting to allow the ECU to self adjust ,, it makes a huge difference . If you have not done this just re-fit the standard one , idle for 12 minutes , refit the DNA/K&N and again idle for 12 minutes ,, this stops the bike having a brain freeze , popping on idle , etc .
07:08: from an e-mail sent me by DNA Sales Department "Regarding our company, we do not collaborate with S&S Cycle. As a result , they do not sell our products It seems that they have created a 100% copy of the DNA High Performance Filter."
It's more tourqe especially in mid range.1 HP max but 5-6Nm.It is noticable too but it is more about modifying & with slip on's & booster plug there is a huge difference especially with 6-7kg weight reduction with the slip on's.
@@ruahinesrider ok agree to disagree. A higher flowing air filter doesn’t do anything if air filter flow isn’t the impediment to more gas flow. On the Enfields the biggest choke point is the stock headers. So not much is going to happen until you change those. Agree that less weight is good. I switched my airfilter with stock exhaust made no difference except for louder and not very nice sounding intake honk. S&S silencers add a small boost to midrange which I can feel and S&S has the dyno chart before and after to prove.
@@morri03 Hahaha..Most definitely the biggest choke hold is the double skirted headers with a weight of 9-10 kg it's all about the look keeping those chrome pipes chrome with no golding or blueing like you would off 2-1 or 2-2 big bore headers & that is where you make the biggest gains as you said.A rounder diameter header will definitely give it a kick in the pants & being single skirted equates to a massive weight saving a 2-1 is a 13kg saving & 2-2 is a 10 kg saving which is a significant loss in weight.Depends on what you prefer 2-2 big bore look better I think but 2-1 has the performance.Get a high end 2-1 such as Varex in Tasmania you will have the best of both worlds with their high quality finish no restrictions as S&S look good but have 2 high flow cats to be legal in USA & drop them in a few hp & weigh .5-1kg more. Also which country you in to as laws differ. Chuck a Lithium battery & save another 2kg minimum grab rail etc..If I sat lightly on your chest you can breathe but when I stand up you get alot more glorious air flow.So big bore headers & weight loss plus all the smaller mods such as high flow air filter booster plug to richen it up you have free flowing air breathing bike which equals horsepower & more importantly torque.
@@ruahinesrider all true although the biggest issue with the header aside from the bore is the cats in them. My S&S pipes are the ‘race only’ version with no cats
I got a DNA filter for my RE Meteor 350, and there's a noticeable difference. While it doesn't turn it in to a superbike, it pulls better in all gears, including fifth. With the stock filter and airbox cover, it didn't really pull in fifth; now, it does. Plus it sounds a lot better. With the DNA filter, my Meteor actually feels like it can breathe! It's as if it said, "Ahhhh..." :) I looked first to see if K&N made a filter for my Meteor, but they don't. I went with DNA, and I'm glad I did! BTW, DNA tested the filter from a Kawasaki (I can't remember which model though); they tested the stock filter, one from K&N, and one of theirs. Theirs did the best, even beating out the K&N by 10-12 CFM. SO! When it came time to replace the filter on my car, I went with DNA instead of K&N. I figure every CFM I can get to the engine is well WORTH IT! The DNA filter sure woke up my Focus... :)
If only RE had thought of that, fancy being able to release all that extra horsepower for virtually nothing. You should dyno it and quantify the extra horsepower.
I guess they have to restrict it from factory to be compliant with emissions standards and be learner approved. It isn't a major increase but It definitely feels like the bike has woken up a bit.
