Hey Finn. Mike Forbes here, a 63 year old previous sailor. I have loved your family's ventures since the beginning. Many years. I think it is wonderful you are developing your own channel. Best of luck to you. You are a very good young Man.
thank you for being such an inspiration!! as a 16 year old i can relate to how hard it can be to unplug and just live in the moment!! thank you for this, your videos are absolutely beautiful!! much love from the US
I think you did great. It's hard to be without our phones on a boat or on land. It's our connection to other people, art, culture, music, etc. That you went as long as you did was just great!
Honesty is the Best Policy Finn. Thanks for telling us you got on your phone. If you feel 'disappointed in urself' then don't, because you were honest. Remember what Judge Judy says; "If you tell the truth you don't have to try to remember what you said."
The music matches your video so well!! I really like the fact that you make your own music and I hope you keep doing this, cause it sounds amazing Finn!! ❤
i discovered your videos maybe a week ago now and i was in the middle of a slight meltdown about school and all those things. my first year of college ends in about 3 days, looking ahead at this summer is exciting but truly scary... idk, it seems like w out school or anything i dont have that much discipline and i have to figre out what to do with my days. ofc its always fun to look ahead at a clear sky and wonder whats in store for the day but im a little nervous for some reason. ive found a lot of comfort in your music playing, cinematography and dynamic with ur family. u seem like such a sweet guy and trust me, youre going to meet so many people along your way. youll cross paths with so many walks of life and things wont feel so so bad anymore. im supper happy you get to travel and create things on the side. what youre putting out is so heartwarming and creates a spark in my heart. im sure many can say the same :) this summer, one of my projects is making a polaroid book of different people i meet ;)))) anyhow, thanks for making my little corner of the world a lot brighter ;))
don’t be too hard on yourself about going on your phone! phones are apart of our everyday lives now in order to connect and communicate with people! you went all day without it, and that’s already so impressive. you’re videos are amazing & this one was particularly funny lmao. keep it up dude we all love seeing your stuff. don’t be too hard on yourself!❤️
I’m impressed you made the effort to go phoneless! You’re on a boat & most of us can’t go an hr w/o our phone. I’d absolutely follow your escapades as “van boy Finn.” You make every vlog entertaining because you are introspective. For a teenager you’re one cool dude. Wherever your travels take you I’m along for the ride.👍☮️🛶🚘⛰🏝🌎
Great job on the channel, and good, strong effort on the challenge! The way I look at it: if you complete the goal, even just one time, you never have to prove it to yourself again. Next time you do it, remember that if you stop short of the finish line you need to do it over again; but if you just get through those toughest last few hours and minutes, then, you're done with that exercise of will power. I know you'll do it sucessfully next time! 💕
Hi Finn! 👋🏻 😊 next time you wanna unplug you have so many options and you need to plan your day out before you go phoneless. Also, watches and clocks (battery powered! 😂) are helpful for telling time 😂😂😂 but I do all kinds of things like read a book, write a song, a poem, play board games, sit and talk to family or a friend, practice mindfulness and meditation, the ocean is your backyard. Find a new way to look at it by simply looking longer. Notice the details of life. There’s so much around us at all times. It’s easy to embrace if you can practice on letting it in. You’re awesome, can’t wait to see what the rest of your life looks like if we all go VanLife with you. 😊Peace and love my friend ❤
Finn you did great! Remember, it’s not all or nothing you are living on a sailboat, it’s your only connection to the outside world! Set a healthy limit, discuss with your family; 1 hour a day 2 hours some days, does not sound unreasonable. We are thoroughly enjoying your videos though, keep them up, can’t wait for your van life. God bless you and the family!
'going without your phone' doesn't mean don't listen to music. It means don't do social media, email ,etc. Music is such an emotional thing it can be as strong as love. Try it again and this time allow yourself the music. Good luck!
For Vanlife: Thousand Trails has no nightly fees when you join, BTW. My favorite parks are Yosemite Lakes, Idyllwild at 7000ft., Chula Vista (San Diego), Menifee in wintertime, Tahoe Valley is right at Lake Tahoe, stay 21 days, go annual if you like the spot 😊
Finn and his siblings are really awesome young adults. Finn is the type of friend I would have sought out when I was younger. It’s amazing to see fins. Transition in just a few years looking through the videos. I can only imagine five years from now.👍
your gonna love the open road bro, I drove from Newfoundland to British Columbia. when i was 18. it was the best experience of my life, you will meet many many cool people , you will never forget it or regret it.. your funny af bro.. just be Yourself always!
your personality is like a breath of fresh air in the TH-cam environment. i just came across one of your videos last night and I feel in love with your vibe :) keep it up man we love you!!!!
I absolutely love your videos - the editing, special affects, choice of scenery/content and the sense of humor(s)! Lol. Also, would definitely watch your Van Life channel...
I cannot fathom how exited I got when you said when you move out your gonna do van life in the us.. I will 1000% still watch your videos. (You’re already my favorite TH-camr) Van life is my plan for when I move out too. Its my dream😁 I wanted to thank you because your videos are such and inspiration to me!! Your not just any cookie cutter travel channel. I love the energy you put out in your videos 😁I’m probably gonna vlog my van life journey too! Also I’m gonna try and go 24 hours without my phone tomorrow and I’ll let you know how it goes. (if your reading this) I’m so excited for your next chapter in life and that your going to share it with us!!! 💙💙 -sending love from the great state of Louisiana!!!! 💙💙😁😁💗
I tried to go 24 hours without my phone today and I remembered that I was doing the challenge today at like 10 am while I was on my phone, so I turned it off, hopefully until 10 am the next day but then I was just sitting down and realized I’ve been on my phone today and I forgot all about the challenge so I failed 😣 but I’m gonna try it again tomorrow
One thing i have gained from your channel AND YOUR PARENTS IS . MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR TIME TOGETHER FINN WITH YOUR FAMILY. My brother and sister are all in our 50's almost and we pretty much know nothing of each other . Ima man by the way to so just like ur family 2 boys and a girl but as children we never spent time together which i thank your parents for doing by putting everyone on a boat and get to know each other.
I’d watch your “van adventure starring Finn” videos. 😎 I think sailing the world from the eyes of a 17 year old is fantastic & really soooo much fun to watch. You have a great opportunity being able to do this journey. 🌴 I’ve been to Turkey 5 times; my favorite vacay destination 🇹🇷 Thanks to you I find myself saying “lesssh go” 🤦🏼♂️… so until next Sunday, “caio & bye”👍.
Two thoughts...don't rush to leave the best. Jack is showing you there is still much to learn from parents and subs. Second, we can make a drinking game from each time you said phone in this vid!😉 As always, y'all be safe with ample Blessings. Ed
Hi Finn, I've been following you and your family since the beginning. It's a true pleasure to see how you have matured and grown over the years! I appreciate the honesty you are portraying in your videos. This latest one especially. Keep up the great work and stay honest and true to yourself!👍🙏🙂
At lease you didn't lie to us, so thank you for that. I'm sorry you lost your challenge & started looking @ your phone. Your lucky, you have a second chance. Some people don't get 2nd chances. So just try again & make sure you achieve your goal. You know you can do it for 12 hours, Start going up from there. You'll make it hun. Have a wonderful day & may God bless you, Chris from Missouri
Yes! I would still watch if you build out a van and travel around the U.S. I designed my van and had it built out last year and I love it! There's nothing like having your home with you everywhere you go 😊
Hey Finn...! I'm gonna have to sign up as a patron if I want to find out bc I'm a complete idiot. Just asked my sister (who isn't) "what's telegram?" She also never heard of it. So, to playstore, found app, downloaded, and tried to text, but evidently doing something wrong. Some other youtubers I am subscribed to have also asked me to text on telegram. Now, everyone might think I'm a jerky snob. I am, but...kidding!
Damn Finn, I really don't know how I ended up on your videos, but I think this is the best TH-cam experience I've ever had. You truly have a wonderful power - just watching makes me happy. Who knows, maybe we'll cross paths on the seas or in a van. "Lesh go" haha.
I didn’t know you were the same age as me with the same goal in life right now! I’ve always wanted to do some van traveling. So, I cant wait to see your future videos!!!
Finn, thank you for your geat videos. I've been following your family's adventures as you sail around the world. I am a new subscriber and just starting to post comments. For those of us who are "land-locked" and stuck in routines, your videos are a breath of fresh air. You are so genuine, humble, and down-to-earth. You are an inspiration to others. Safe travels and God bless you and your family. From New York City, the concrete jungle. Robert.
Hi Finn , I suffered a stroke in late January. I have been following you for some time now and I am so inspired by your entire approach to life . With so much nonsense happening everyday in the world u kiddo are the real thing . Wow !!!
I see in the last segment you have a David Bowie poster on your wall - how cool! I had the good fortune of seeing Bowie about 25 times - best concerts, ever! Keep up the great work with your content!
Finn, I would pay to see you perform your music, tell stories and show photos/video of your journey around the world on a small sailboat. There a hundreds of community theaters across the country (USA) that I bet you could sell out. Just a thought. You have a great sense of humor and are very talented. The world is at your doorstep!
I just bought an RV a few months ago. I will be traveling around soon. I think you will love van life Finn! I could see from your travels and experiences that you love adventures to unknown territories!
I love how many times during the video u said, I'm still not on my phone, I don't miss my phone. Dude, you missed your phone, it's ok! Although I wouldn't count listening to music as being on your phone. It's more the internet access and mindless surfing on social media you should try to cut down on. But you made almost all day, which is good. Baby steps. 🙂 And, yes to watching your future vanlife videos! 👍
❤hey Finn u rock. I appreciate you and your blogs keep rolling I love them. I keep you all in my prayers for safety and everything. I think u past the test real good I believe in you bud. Keep em coming look forward too your blogs
Yeah Finn, you’ve seen so much of the world, but man, the states is beautiful. So many people from here dream of Europe or Asia and we have one of the most interesting, unique and one of the kind places to visit here in this beautiful country! Get the van man and enjoy the ride! 😊
Finn I love your energy :) you have such a fun life and you seem like you'd have so many amazing stories and experiences to talk about, you'd defo make an awesome friend! van life would be super cool too, I'd love to watch that :)
I couldn't do a day without my phone. I need it for almost everything so do t b so hard on yourself you actually did pretty good. and if ppl watched you being bored in this video I'm pretty sure they would watch u if u decide to go for the van life in the US. its a dream for most of us we will all live vicariously through u @!!😊
Awesome video Finn. Thank you for sharing. Maybe the next time you try to unplug, make sure your 24 hours is filled entirely (and have a watch) so you don't need your phone to know what time it is. Great to see you again. If/When you get an RV and drive all across the United States, I do hope you will stop by and see us in the Washington DC area. It would be awesome to meet you.
dude I would be a supporter of the van life! I always wanted to know what other states have to offer besides my state Idaho (which by the way has beautiful sceneries in the summer) but I definitely think you should do what makes you happy, regardless what we as fans support of :)
I know that no matter what you do or where you go, you 'll bring an original perspective and have much to share with the people you meet. I would definitely follow you and I'm a Gma!!
Because music is such an important thing to you in your life I suggest that you try something that I started to do a few years ago when I realized I was spending way too much time on my phone, which was also my source of music. I found my old iPod that I had, charged it up, filled it up with music and now once or twice a month, when I go on my deep desert hikes here in Nevada, I use it, and I abandon my phone for the entire day now. I found very quickly that having the music on a different device took away the longing to constantly check my phone. I have been a music producer and disc jockey my entire life and I realized when I first tried to go without my phone that I felt a constant void in the back of my mind no matter what I was doing. Bringing the music along dramatically reduced that longing. I find you to be an absolutely brilliant young man and I believe that no matter what, or where, or how you live, you will have tons of followers always❤
Hi Finn, I am 69 and have watched your family’s videos ever since you left Texas in the Summer of 2016. You are now finding your own path and thinking about what to do with yourself. I would recommend getting higher qualifications as a fall back and then chase your dream of van living. Maybe enrol on a degree in Broadcasting and Television. I see University of Texas at Austin is one of the best Universities for this course. My reason behind this thinking is an 18 year old thinks differently when they are 25 and getting a higher qualification before chasing your dream might help you in the long run. You definitely have a natural ability using the camera and editing film, not to mention your natural ability playing on your guitar and composing your own music. By all means chase your dreams as that is important but probably think about making your dream your profession and how you can achieve that.
You should do a camera setup tour and everything that you use. I’m trying to start up my own TH-cam and I would love to learn what you use. And I definitely would watch you. I have always dreamed of doing van life and just traveling the world!
I once went 2 weeks without my phone in 2014. Best time of my life. I were very fortunate to grow up in the 90s before mobiles became a fashion and loved my child hood. So much life has been moved into apps especially socialism. Phones can be very addictive. It’s nice to have a break once in a while. :-) You did great. Loved the video. Thank for sharing.
❤ HELLO BEAUTIFUL FAMILY 💙 HOW YOU DOING FINN ❤️ YOU ARE SO FUNNY LOL. I'M GOING THROUGH COLON CANCER RIGHT NOW AND GOING THROUGH CHEMO AND IT MAKES YOU VERY SICK AND YOUR VIDEOS MAKE ME SMILE 😊 AND LAUGH AND THAT HELPS ME. BE CAREFUL JUMPING OFF THE CLIFF'S PLEASE. I LOVE WATCHING YOUR FAMILY VIDEOS TO. DOES YOUR SISTER HAVE A CHANNEL. IT LOOK'S BEAUTIFUL IN TURKEY 🦃🦃 LOL. NEVER BEEN THERE BEFORE. I'M WATCHING YOU FROM MONTANA USA ❤️💜 YOU KNOW WHERE IT IS. I SEEN YOUR VIDEOS WHEN YOUR FAMILY WENT TO MONTANA THEN YOU GOT COVID YOUR FAMILY AFTER FLYING. TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL 💜🧡
Yes! U can ! A tour would be amazing I’ve lived in Florida my whole life and always wanted to cross country on land I would follow every step of the way maybe join if convenient
Hey Finn, I'm an older guy and my cell phone quit working 24 months ago and I never bothered to replace it. Believe it or not, I do not miss it. If anything, being cell-phoneless has actually enriched my life. It takes a bit of getting used to. Too many people now-a-days have become total zombies to their phones. Enough said. Take care.
I noticed the format you guys got it down good yeah keep it up man that’s good I liked it he’s the center of attention because he’s videotaping I like it a lot
Full disclosure; I’m 51 and subscribed to help your channel out after following your family for several years, but found I love what you are doing. Even though I grew up in the era before phones I am now an addict. I have to break myself away every so often and I look at it like I do eating; am I hungry or bored? I then do the apple test, would I eat an apple? If yes I am probably hungry. If not I am bored and need some other stimulation. You are doing great and if you ever pass near Knoxville, TN in your van you have a place to stay.
Van life has been such a big dream of mine so 100% people will still watch your videos
Of course
Same! I really want to do van life during the first few years of marriage 🤪.
Have a van we built. I love just going into the van and chillin. Love to do van life more

Teenagers do best when they wake up at 10 AM and go to bed late. This is how your brains are designed.

The part from you saying "prince charming" to the point where Jack says your real names and you have to bleep it - makes me laugh so hard. Thanks
Love the videos. Enjoy your travels, living the dream.
Your honesty is refreshing
Yes please I would love to see van life Finn!! It’s always been a dream of mine as well :)
Great job Finn! Awesome video man!!
Don't be disappointed in yourself, you're amazing! Everyone needs to communicate, phones are a huge part of that
Van life videos?? heck yes i would definitely still watch your videos!! That's been a huge dream for me for awhile
Love the vids Finn!
dude I would be a supporter of the van life! I always wanted to know what other states have to offer besides my state Idaho (which by the way has beautiful sceneries in the summer) but I definitely think you should do what makes you happy, regardless what we as fans support of :)
Absolutely!!!! I would love to watch you renovating a van and then you living in it
I know that no matter what you do or where you go, you 'll bring an original perspective and have much to share with the people you meet. I would definitely follow you and I'm a Gma!!
You have many many fans who will follow you and your channel. Always enjoy your videos
By all means chase your dreams as that is important but probably think about making your dream your profession and how you can achieve that.
growing up without phone was soooo much freedom, im so happy and fortunate i grew up without it
You should do a camera setup tour and everything that you use.
You did great. Loved the video. Thank for sharing.
You got the best attitude brother !! keep doing you brother !! never stop brother !!

I used to paint and draw... but those were the "olden days"!
Finn, i like the challenge and will give it a try this week and see how it goes. Thanks for another awesome video of the falls and family fun.

Take care.
too too funny Finn, while detoxing from the cell it's all you talked about all :)
Krahaahaha the I AM WOMAN bit was funny
Hey man! Just want to say you inspire me with how real you are to live real in my own life. So thank you and LeSH gO
