Yeah, I tried a few of the petals. They were great. The plants are still small, but that's fine by me for now because I don't have the space at the moment.
Nice plant haul, Dom! Much wider selection than the slim pickings on offer over here (and they bother to Name the varieties, too). Lol, your filming on the pavement (sidewalk, for American viewers) has me recalling unusual plant-related dreams: in the dreams, I have my potted citrus, etc, growing on a public pavement in a busy High Street lined with shops. In another dream, I had my potted plants growing on the tarmac of a busy supermarket car park, and I was worried that cars would run them over. How bizarre, eh? Perhaps my dreams are trying to tell me that I need more space for my plants!
Thanks, Gary. I literally only had a couple of hours to look around the nursery, collect and pay for these plants before rushing to catch a ferry. It sounds like enough time but in reality I need to spend at least half a day there. I'm planning another trip for Saptember, so I can revisit Oscar Tintori, Agrumi Lenzi and a few other nurseries. I'm going to give myself a week or 2 so I can browse in leisure. As to your dream, I was in Amsterdam a month or two ago and along the rows of terraced houses, some home owners keep their plants outside to beautify the streets. I saw one or two citrus species in pots there. ... It's even more common in Italy, where I saw several potted Lemons on my walks.
Your new plants look fabulous, Dom! Some great varieties there. The Coolidge pineapple guava is quite difficult to get here now, and I've also never heard of Selection, so it's great you were able to get those ones! The finger lime tree looks very healthy as well 👍
Thanks, Peter. I'm super pleased with both plants. I might be able to pickup a Coolidge here eventually but I had a few spare Euro in my pocket so went for it. Yes, the 'Selection' is a new one to me. The blooms on such a small plant sell themselves.
Great to see you finally get some flowering feijoa Dom and the fingerlime is a beauty. Haha the French can be so sneaky, that 'new' variety is clearly a 'selection' of an unnamed seedling. But it will still be perfect for cross pollination if it flowers profusely 👍
😂😂Ah Ah Ah. Don't forget it has the ® symbol next to the name. That means it's a "Registered Trademark". In all seriousness , I'm not sure about the provenance of this variety/. The name 'Selection' does seem to tell it's own story though . I'm just happy it looks pretty ... and for the princely sum of 19 Euro, I'm now in the flowering feijoa club. 😂 Yay!
Definitely nice feijoas and for a good price. I bought some for 14 euro that were 1/3 the size + shipping that worked out to more than what you paid for for these flowering ones. My original one isn't flowering. I suppose because of the winter, I left it unprotected. So it's probably investing all energy into new leaves.
Thanks Kristofp. Yes, these are really nice specimens of feijoas and I;m super pleased with the price. You're right, flowering does take up a lot of energy so sometimes it's best if the plant just develops a thicker canopy of foliage.
Beautiful fruit trees!! Definitely a steel of a deal!!!! Both are superb varieties!!!
Thank you, I really couldn't resist at that price. Just the blooms alone are worth it 😊
Very pretty Feijoa plants. I absolutely love the flowers and being able to eat the sweet petals is a bonus👌🏾

Прекрасная покупка 👌😀😀
Спасибо. Цена у них была очень хорошая, поэтому я не смог устоять. 😊
