Modified Interest Subvention Scheme (MISS)
The Modified Interest Subvention Scheme (MISS) provides short term loans to farmers for agriculture and allied activities at subsidized interest rate through the Kisan Credit Card (KCC).
Launch date : 2006-2007
Renamed as MISS : 2022 (Interest Subvention Scheme)
Lending rate to Farmers : 7%
Interest Subvention to Lending Institute : 1.5%
Overall loan limit: ₹3 lakh at concessional interest rate.
An additional interest subvention of 3% per annum will be provided to such of those farmers repaying in time.
Interest subvention and prompt repayment incentive benefits will be available on an overall limit of ₹3 lakh per annum.
Subject to a maximum sub-limit of ₹2 lakh per farmer in respect of those farmers involved only in allied activities.
This interest subvention will be provided on the loan amount for a maximum period of one year.
Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Scheme
Under the KCC Scheme, a KCC is issued to farmers with a pre-sanctioned credit limit, which helps them avail credit facilities for their cultivation and other needs, such as purchasing agricultural inputs like seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, as well as drawing cash for their production needs.
Launch date : 1998
Issuing Agencies : Commercial Banks, RRBs, Small Finance Banks and Cooperatives.
In the Budget 2018-19, government announced the extension of the facility of Kisan Credit Card (KCC) to fisheries and animal husbandry farmers to help them to meet their working capital needs.
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN)
PM-KISAN is an initiative by the government of India that gives farmers up to ₹6,000 in three installments per year as minimum income support.
Launch date - 24th February 2019
Effective Date - December 1, 2018
Ministry : Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare
Eligibility : All landholding farmers with cultivable land (Initially, it was limited to farmers with up to 2 hectares of land.)
Financial Assistance : Eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 per year in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each, every four months.
It is a Central Sector scheme with 100% funding from Government of India.
Krishi Sakhi Convergence Program (KSCP)
Realising the significant role and contribution of women in agriculture and to enhance further the skills of rural women. Ministry of agriculture & farmers welfare and ministry of rural development signed an MoU on Aug 30, 2023 and jointly launched the Krishi Sakhi Convergence Program (KSCP).
Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) Scheme
AIF is a financial scheme of GoI scheme providing medium to long-term financing for agricultural infrastructure projects like cold storage, warehouses, silos, and processing units to enhance post-harvest management and reduce wastage.
Launch Date : 2020
Total Corpus: ₹1,00,000 crore
Operational : 2020-21 to 2032-33 (13 years)
It is a Central Sector scheme with 100% funding from Government of India.
