You are so wise for being 23! At 23, I was entering a new season of life and was just re-visiting my faith, and uncovering so much I didn't understand through the trials and tribulations I was going through. What really resonated with me was when you said , we are all loved equally--that Jesus loves the person who is in prison for murder the same as he loves you. This was something I didn't fully grasp and that I think SO many Christians don't fully understand, which is why we see so much judgment in the world. I struggled with this quite a bit and found myself comparing and thinking I was better than others based on how I was living my life (not that I was doing the best!). It wasn't until I read the book The Shack in 2008 that I truly understood this concept--it was explained in a way that really hit my soul.
Anyway, I'm excited for you to continue to on your spiritual journey with such a like-minded life partner
The Shack is soooo humbling!! An amazing “testimony” i put that in quotes because it’s fictional but oh my goodness it’s amazing and so deep. The author talked about the book being about repenting and being on a healing journey with God that in reality took 11 years in even repairing his marriage, but in the Shack it was just a weekend. Helped me see some battles take time but you CAN overcome them!

@@h3artands0uLL Yes! I was going through so much when I read The Shack and it really helped me look at things in my life differently. I was a single (co-parenting) mom struggling with so much hurt, resentment, guilt and unforgiveness, all while trying to experience what was supposed to be the most beautiful time in my life--motherhood. It was hard to reconcile. The book really helped me see things differently, which created a shift for me going forward. Now 12 years later, (my son is close to turning 18) and all those feelings mentioned above have been dealt with and I have a beautiful relationship with my son's dad, step-mom and little brother. As much pain as I felt, I would do it all again to be in the place that I currently am.

When i pressed play it was like I was crying because Hailey literally said everything I have ever felt and feel right now. I understand you had shame maybe you should pray and said exactly what you did and ask first yourself for forgiveness than the person you did wrong than you said yourself free to live you life. Shame don't go away over night its a journey with God if you try do this by yourself you'll only hurt you more. I don't want to be a hater and I don't think it's fair to assume people who write nasty things are nasty people. If you believe God loves everyone the same, how can we label any one person as such?
You believe you are for each other, but why rush it? God lets things happen in his own time. Do we need to get married then get to know each other later? Should we be promoting that for young Christians? Just because WE believe means therefore it is God's will?

Yes, He does. He does not love us for what we do or don't do. He loves us because he made us and that's why He died on the cross while we were still sinners. You're right that some people will use it as a reason to sin. But once we all understand the price of sin was Jesus dying on a cross even though he had no sins of his own, we will not take sin so lightly.

Oh, this is a book-but you’re under lockdown too, right? Maybe you are asking, What is Love? That quintessential question. You probably already know, but let me riff, thanks. The answer is so simple, at an abstract level; indeed most people already know it: some form of, If we could all just love each other, the world would be a better place. But there’s a problem, because the meaning of love is not simple, on a practical personal level. It is as complex as you are, as any of us are. Stop. Ask why. You enjoy exploring, right? Cool.... I continue. As the laws of physics are so simple, yet the forms of clouds are so infinite, and a description of any one particular event would require more than a thousand thousand words-because the unchanging principles take ever changing forms relative to all aspects of all objects in relation(ship) with each other at any particular time, so also does the principle of love take many forms relative to all aspects of all beings and things concrete and abstract that are in relationship with each other at any particular time. Cause and effect; spiritual/psychological physics. More than words. That’s why Jesus saying Love your neighbor as yourself is so insightful. You are more than words. Among other things, I think He means that we must know ourself and love ourself; we are a book of love that offers more information about how to love than words ever could. Knowledge is power (to love). But of course, if we try to love others exactly according to the concrete form it takes toward us, we would fail. And as an abstract principle, it also fails, because it has virtually no meaning relative to what choice to actually make in any given situation. So we need to find a usable level of abstraction somewhere in between. Like clouds, much is different between them, but, much is the same, which allows us to recognize them as clouds and not trees. So also are humans. Could you, or any human, be loved without being known? Can a human be fully known without communication, interaction, and shared experience? Can these be done immediately with any stranger, or do we need time, to build trust onto knowledge, which justifies (or not) going deeper? Can building trust happen without everyone being patient, kind, judging (in word, then action if need be, to protect your boundaries), merciful, faithful, repentant and forgiving? We learn about ourself not just from introspection but also from interaction/experience; we need both. In what kind of interaction did you feel loved (or if the opposite, then conceive the opposite of that)? What about it could probably be applicable to any human? Try it, learn. If you honestly tried to do good but hurt somebody, repent (learn and change), let them forgive or not, forgive yourself, let God forgive you. If we do harm or overselfishly gain, counting on God to forgive us anyways, as it says, God will not be mocked. No one ‘gets away’ with anything, otherwise people would take advantage and God’s system would collapse. He couldn’t achieve His purpose. Loving others as general humans is a safe, practical start in any kind of relationship. From there, you get to know the unique individual person, and learn how to love that person. How we love an individual depends on the place (the situation at any particular time) and the purpose (of the relationship). We structure our relationships differently depending on the purpose, eg, sports, business, child-parent, student-teacher, marriage, friends, etc. A relationship may have more than one purpose, and change it’s purpose over time. Whatever choice serves the (good) purpose is love, whatever disserved the purpose is not love. Whatever makes that kind of relationship better (closer to your shared ideal of it) is love; whatever makes it worse is not love. So what is God’s love toward us? Its form, at an abstract level, has the same purpose for all of us, and the aspect of it that relates to Jesus’ death is that He wants us all to live, with Him as our God. The aspect that relates to Jesus’ life in us by the Holy Spirit is that He wants us to grow and become people who don’t sin anymore, but love, in all appropriate forms. He loves us all as humans, as described above-given the situation that He has not yet taken His power to come down and personally live with us and totally rule, but still let’s us and Satan keep our management positions over the world since most people still prefer it that way apparently. Amazingly. He also loves us personally, and the form of this love is unique, depending on His set of purposes for us personally at any particular time/season. In regard to Jesus’ death, God loves Hailey and the murderer the same, offering both the chance to have their sins paid for, graciously, but according to the legal structure in place. In regard to Jesus’ life in them, as they seek and accept it, the purposes are many, some the same, some different. These purposes are structured according to a yet higher purpose of creating a kingdom where everyone lives and experiences righteousness, peace, joy, and there’s no more death and suffering. If people keep murdering, lying, hurting people, can God achieve His purpose? No; He would have created an eternal ‘Hell’, not ‘Heaven’. So by Jesus’ life in sinners (all of us in different ways and degrees), and by His work in our external situation, He forms us according to the purposes for us here and in His kingdom. Sometimes pain is part of the formation process. It’s spiritual/psychological physics. People ask why God didn’t just make us good people from the start. He is. This is the start. Part of that formation process requires our consciousness and free will during it. The more a person sins, gets off track, likely the more pain and less peace and joy they will have during the formation process. It’s all love. But love is complex. Love is real, not a painless fantasy fairytale. What must happen will happen, otherwise the purpose of God’s kingdom of eternal righteousness, peace and joy can not be achieved/created. Our choice to sin or love makes the process/journey more painful or more peaceful and joyful-for everyone.

Not because of hailey, she's given her best already, but the interviewer is so boring. @@too2great8 I agree that it appears like a bit of a stretch at the moment - but if you consider the kind of airtime and attention that Hillsong lavishes on JB and his wife, and also note how Justin appears to parrot their message at every possible opportunity, you will see the parallels. He is their star attraction, crowd-puller, eyeball and interest generator, and also a poster boy with the perfect redemption story to sell. Kanye and the Kardashians don't have the same youth appeal and authenticity, Lovato and other celebs who frequent Hillsong are not as popular as Justin. So, he seems to be the 'chosen one'. ;)

The hurt has been done and the only thing now is to heal and ask for forgiveness. But she hasn't asked for forgiveness. They still shades. Actions speak louder than words. People picked out a part where he said 'its my lyme disease' and made it out like Justin said something wrong!!
