Oh yeah! I had one just like that little Corningware years ago. I wasn’t as lucky and ended up cleaning up a lot of shards - after the explosion!

Great video! My favorite kettle is an old stainless steel one I also got at a thrift store. It holds like a gallon of water and polishes up nice with a little barkeepers friend.

I, too, have become really into thrifting! It is SO satisfying to get something you needed or wanted, for like $4 instead of $100 new/retail. ❤

I make my morning coffee with a french press and use my electric kettle everyday - it's got a fun little blue light that feels sort of calming first thing in the morning.

Right?! Small detail but I love the blue light. 👍

My favorite water kettle... the microwave. I know it is a UK brand so I am sure it tries to be as fast as possible, but the way their voltage system is set up for the home allows them to have kettles that boil at speeds that I haven't seen over here USA.
And for the trivia: Appleskevers definitely came to mind as well... but I'm going for... TOKOYAKI PAN! The recesses look a little small for Appleskevers (although you could use each for the other thing) and he is on the West Coast.

So I should have mentioned: this has a standard 110-volt US-style plug, so double win! 🙌

It's a poffertjes pan (for Dutch mini pancakes, delicious)

You became distracted. I've scorched two Revere sauce pans and a teakettle. Welcome to my world.

We used to have a Sunshine, Sunset, can't remember the brand, (Sunbeam!) but it was a HotShot that would heat up water real fast. Unfortunately, we destroyed a few of them over the years by turning it on without water. And they don't make them anymore, so now we heat water in the microwave. Maybe we should look into getting a kettle.
I showed my dad the clip on the pan at the end and he didn't remember what it was, but when I told him based on the other guesses, he got all excited and said he had bought one for his mom. Now he's looking up Danish stuff on the internet. His adopted dad was Danish. :)

Aebleskiver pan. Really yummy stuff - makes a visit to Solvang for some worthwhile.

Solvang! That place brings back such great childhood memories. We’d always come home with that big bucket of cookies. 👍

Aebleskiver (Danish Pancakes) pan. Just sold mine on Facebook Marketplace. I love Danish pancakes but maybe made them once every few years. It went to someone who is planning on making them more frequently!

I thought it was an Aebleskiver pan, but now that I’ve looked it up, I think I was mistaken. I now think that it is a Japanese Takoyaki pan. I had never heard of these savory balls made in the same shape as Aebleskivers before. Thanks for broadening my culinary culture.

A takoyaki pan for making takoyaki a Japanese fried savory food, similar to a Danish Aenleskiver pan but the fried treat is smaller.

An aebelskiver pan. Aebelskivers are Danish snacks.

Those would be great to bake tater tots.
Otherwise use a mini muffin pan.

I tried this kettle out; unfortunately there's too much plastic on the inside. I would be exposing myself to cancer-causing chemicals by sipping water heated in this kettle.
