    I love your videos. You show all the mistakes, interruptions, ones you couldn't get. No ego, just great information.

    This gives me hope. I’m currently taking close to 18 minutes per pair. Granted I’ve only been sharpening for about a month. Getting great results but definitely having to take my time for now.

    Great video, and I adjusted my pricing this year and I am happy I did. Everything is up in price so it was a good time to make the change.

    Very casual and informative videos. You're a natural. I'm in the UK. We have a very successful Grooming Business over here(Spa Paws) and I am currently looking to expand the services in to Sharpening.
    I'm underwhelmed with the lack of info on what to buy or even where to buy it.
    Can you help me out with some options for what I need? I'm really struggling to find many suppliers over here.
    Thanks

    Thank you for sharing this informative video. I haven’t paid to sharpen anything in a long time so I’m stunned at how much the cost is now. Maybe I will sharpen again!

    I Sharpened years ago. Just for a few minutes honestly. I had a customer shipping from out of state and was so happy with me. I had a crash course in the day. And I ended up selling my sharpening machines except for my Okami gold scissors sharpeners. I’m a long time groomer almost 40 years, and there’s such a shortage of sharpeners around here. I’m thinking I might start again. I would really like to be trained properly though

      I was afraid someone would ask. I picked this up at a sharpening convention and have been trying to recreate it. I'll post a video if I get one made. In the meantime, it's mine and I'm not sharing it!!!

      I found them at Dollar General. They come two held by a handle but I cut them apart.

      I was thinking used asked about the baskets and the clipper blades. I just reread your comment. The scissor bags we sell those. Call to get them. We have only a limited supply. We have looked at ordering them I. Numbers but I’m appalled at the price. You can also buy paper cutlery bags on line very cheap. Also the icing bags used in baking cakes.

    This is really interesting, as a groomer with elbow injuries I'm really considering trying sharpening as well. I think I'll have to find someone to apprentice under though, you make it look easy but I don't think it is hehe.

    "Is zero degrees really an angle?" I laughed out loud. What is the sound of one hand clapping? How many angels will be mangled on the tips of pulling shears? Existential sharpening!

    • @BonikaShears

      Zero degrees is an angle when sharpening shears. Zero degrees is 90 degrees. Think that one over. LOL

    uninterrupted I would find that normal for me is around 45 minutes to an hour for 14 blades. I know you have seen me do it. Depending upon the shears could be15 minutes to 45 minutes depending upon how bad they are. so figure an hour to 1.5 hours to do this work. Usually seem to get a lot more blades than shears. That said I did pick up a groom shop that has 7 or so groomers. For whatever reason they do seem to give me a lot more shears. Weird just never know what is going to come in.

    • @djhorn1622

      It would have been an hour and a half for me as well. I definitely need to adjust my pricing as well. I’m currently at $10/bevel and $15/blender and convex and $6/clipper blade.

    • @stevepailet8258
      @stevepailet8258 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@djhorn1622 no need to change your pricing. Just look at it as being behind the curve . You know like 5 years behind. I did not change my pricing till I went to a seminar put on by wolff industries'. What they showed was that most sharpeners are about 6 to 8 years behind just keeping up with modest inflation. today when fuel is up over $2 per gallon and tires and maintenance are up 50% year over year, makes sense to do something. I likely will go up to $9 on the blade soon. Sure does not make me happy but I still have lots of bills to be paid. I would assume your bills are not going down

      @BonikaShears  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are such a good sharpener. I've seen your work and you've come back and taught me. All the other clipper blade sharpeners in your metro area that I know charge $9 per clipper blade and shears are at least $5 to $10 more than you charge.
