SWANNANOA
Swannanoa, I can hear you
call my name upon the wind
If I fall behind, don’t worry
You will see my face again
You will see my face again
Swannanoa, I am longing
for my home so far away
I will carry you within me
from the cradle to the grave
From the cradle to the grave
And the mountains, and the mist
and the white clouds they kissed
And the sweetgum’s perfume in my hair
When these hard times have passed
I will see you at last
Swannanoa, I’ll be home to stay
Oh my darling, I’ll be home to stay

She's just great after all these years. I've been listening to her since 1974,I'm 62 now and wow...I'm still blown away with her talent. ❤😊😊
Janis I have always been a huge fan. I turned 70 this past September. I was in Junior high when Society's Child came out. It was a wakeup call to all teens to lead with our hearts. I know very young Janis never planned or expect the attention that song brought, but it was a message that needed to be shared. This rendition on Swananoa is so beautiful. The attition of this beautiful, peaceful town make this song even more special.
Love it❤
Janis...ALWAYS GREAT!!
Beautiful voice! She hasn't lost a step!
What a beautiful homage to the people suffering in North Carolina. We barely made it out of Asheville alive. To all the victims who lost their lives - this is for you, for safe passage to the other side. I had the honor of being at a small concert with Nuala Kennedy in Ireland several years back, and with the legendary Janis Ian - one of my all time favorite artists back in New York 30 years ago when Breaking Silence was released. Thank you, Janis - for all that you are and all that you do. You are DEEPLY loved.
Absolutely Beautiful!!
Love to hear your lovely voice still and songs that I've listened to here in Australia for 50 years. Great you're ok and much love to you.
