I had a 2017 Prius. Unfortunately I had to sell it at 117,000 miles. It had developed a rapid engine coolant leak. I had it to the dealer a few times. They said it wasn’t the exhaust system. The last time they told me there was possibly water in one of the cylinders. I really liked the car otherwise.
I honestly don't like it that much.. but it is a body style where COLOR makes a HUGE difference. I saw a pearlescent white one at a dealer .. totally changed the look for me.. Hid some of the more weird shapes, and improved some of the other area a lot. It was also a level 4 trim. So it had different wheels on it too.
Even though the new Prius' design has grown on me bit, I think I'll wait for the 2019 MY refresh, which so far looks pretty promising from what I've seen initially. The new Camry, Avalon, Corolla, RAV4 (and hopefully more to show up) are still not just better-looking latest entries from Toyota, but are better vehicles overall too in my opinion. Even the new Tacoma, Prius Prime, and C-HR are too despite their flaws, despite the new Prius being good if flawed too.
Its normal, even my 2008 Prius doesn't have steering wheel lock. When the car is turned off you can't move it around because it locks into P and can't be unlocked until you start again. So no need for a locked steering wheel, like in a lot of modern cars with automatic gear box.
The other reason is that in the event of a power failure extremely unlikely.... You would not want your steering to lock up... And as the other person said.. you can't make it move anyway.. once it comes to a stop.. it goes into park when powered off..
Love the twins idea. LOL Would have been cool to have one wear different color watch or wear it on the other arm or diff color shoes to see if anyone noticed. Good review also!
No turn signal indicators on mirrors. No extensions for sun visors. There are numerous complaints about windshield damage from small pebbles hitting windshield (HUD, LDA must be recalibrated) and very expensive to repair as referenced from the Priuschat web site. Brake lights can hardly be seen in comparison to the Gen 3. Ground clearance is lower than Gen 3 Prius. This is not ideal in a winter climate. No lumbar support in lower trim models. The Carbon fiber rear hatch cost is over $3,000 US dollars. If someone rear ends you, the cost of repair could exceed $5,000 - $6,000 US dollars. We will not be getting a Prius! The mileage is noteworthy. However, there are too many compromises. If gasoline goes over $12.00 a gallon, we might reconsider.
@@andyliu1484 I’d go with a new Miata today! Manual shift. With the 2016 RAV4, made in Japan; at least they gave me a genuine leather cover for the steering wheel! The Prius line up has gone down hill! We have no interest in them anymore!
You can probably get better than those numbers, if you drive with a light foot. I drive a 2013 60,000 miles prius and recently average between 54-55 MPGs over 1,000m freeway driving AND just last night I managed over 72 MPG *computer estimated*, while city driving. Amazing.

Reason why you hear "road noises" is cuz the cars gas engine turns off and it gets really quiet

I just found out my Prius steering wheel does not lock. I want to know if it is only my car or all 2018 Prius cars are.

Is an XM radio standard I guess if not you can buy a small tuner and plug it into the aux

carbon fibre ? lol get real. and if rear ended you don't pay. the compromises are imaginary or you need to look at other cars.

Only the Prius Prime (plug-in) gets a carbon fiber rear hatch. The regular Prius gets an aluminum rear hatch.

@Kvass you can somewhat coast and stay on ev on highway . My friend manage to go close to 70 mph on ev mode on the highway
