EMBRYO ANGLING || CABLES LAKE SYNDICATE

See my first trip to my new syndicate, Cables Lake, one of the Embryo Angling waters in Abingdon Oxford. Such a lovely lake with 100 carp in around 12 acres of clear weedy water. A syndicate for the future for sure, looking forward to my next few seasons on this lake. Hope you enjoy!

What rods and reels are you using? they look the business expecially for distance fishing. I've got greys prodigy 3lb tc and I struggle to get 80 yards but I'm still learing so and I have 0.40mm line on

Hi mate, thanks. I use Harrison Torrix TE’s, they’re 12’ 6” rods with 3-5oz casting rating I believe. Reels are shimano techniums, really good reels mate. The rods are not an out and out casting rod, but definitely cast far enough for me anyway. There’s quite a big difference between 3lb and 3.5lb if you want distance. Saying that even with 3lb tc you can cast a long way if you balance your set up. A heavy rod you might use 4oz leads and 0.38 line for distance (if shockleaders are banned) but with a 3lb rod try 0.34/0.35 line with a 3-3.25oz lead, you might get a few extra yards.
