Thrifting is therapeutic for me. I seldom am looking for anything specific. Just go with what speaks to me.
love Luis at the end with the measuring tape around his neck like he's a tailor haha! one tip which is pretty obvious to any seasoned thrifter: if you have open dressing rooms, check the put-back rack for a nicely curated selection of items (hopefully in your size). if no open dressing rooms, search out full length mirrors in the store bc people might leave their finds there too.
also if you find something vintage and/or natural like cashmere, take it under a light and CHECK IT THOROUGHLY FOR HOLES!!!!! then decide if it's worth to buy/mend!
My 1st step is to scan the store. I head to the dressing room go backs, new items, then mirrors (esp men's dept) for items out of place. As I'm thrifting, I look for items out of place in any size - I think people hide things on the rack expecting to come back on a discount day. I see this esp before a 50% off day.
My problem is when I find nothing, my standards drop, "it's good enough" and I never wear it.
Hey Karina- love this video. I’ve learned so much from you in your other videos and have totally fallen in love with thrifting again. Yesterday I went in looking for Djerf avenue type pieces and I had a huge success. Your style has inspired me sm - you have a gift!
If you’re looking for natural fiber sweaters I recommend looking for cashmere, merino wool, and angora. Super soft!!! I find that wool from the 60s and 80s were washed 😢 which ruins the fibers and makes them scratchy, also they might have been cheap wool fibers 😅
Thanks for the tip!
Excited for this vid! Found some wishlist finds this weekend when i was thrifting so looking for even more tips! 😁
thanks for sharing these tips, i’m so inspired to go thrifting now!
The bag section went OFF! Omg wish I could’ve got so many of those
I love wool. It doesn't really itch me. I thrifted a cardigan made from mohair and its the last time I will buy anything mohair because it does itch me. I love the little glass like pieces that made clothes look glittery, but I don't buy anything with those pieces on it because it scratches me.
🎉I’ve watched tons of the thrifting tips videos on TH-cam. Yours was a breath of fresh air. Bravo 💋
Thanks so much 😊
Thank you for doing this!! It’s all really good advice. I had black pinstriped slacks on my Pinterest list and I thrifted a pair a few weeks ago. I wore them to church today and I love them!
Love the tips Karina ❤
Thank u for the helpful vid!!!! Recently started taking my measuring tape w me and wow , game changer. I even heard unas tías say “mírala que inteligente… se trajo la cinta y todo!” I felt so 💅✨
The video was so informative. I really love the video ❤. Thrifting can be stressful for me, the tips are appreciated 🥹. Thank you 😊❤.
Girl I loved watching this video! You are in your playground and you are such a great teacher girl!!
Karina, I think this was your best video yet, thank you!!! ❤❤Judy❤❤
Thanks for this video! I got my notepad out about the specific Levi's that are high-rise. 👀
Glad it was helpful!
I always go thrifting with a wishlist... and then get distracted by pretty stuff that was not on the list.
My boo I love Karina so much she is amazing ❤❤
Such a great guide! Very well done, Karina! ❤
thanks for the great tips!!
Love these tips!
Loved the video ❤
Glad you liked it!!
Good work, very informative
I love watching thrift videos but the secondhand/charity shops here in the uk are not the best and the good stuff is so expensive in curated thrift stores 😢
Great advise
I downloaded OpenWardrobe but then realized how time-consuming it would be to actually set out and photograph my entire wardrobe. I guess somehow I thought it would have a more efficient system? The idea of having everything digitized sounds good, but where is that time and energy supposed to come from?
agree. i had used a similar app years ago but just got so tired with it
I was waiting for this❤❤😊
Thank you for this video, it's really helpful ❤
Thank you for your video today. It helped me with how to measure clothes so I don’t have to go in the dressing room. Don’t forget to have your male friend to do his haul (I was not sure how to spell L’s name I apologize). I enjoyed his haul the one time also🙂.
thank you
Were you in Paris for a while?
Let's see more thrifting videos ❤
That first dress literally looked like Roberto cavalli I would have screamed lol
I can't believe I'm this early 😊😊❤❤ 1st 😂
My toxic trait is that I actually think I could go thrifting with u and be besties 🩵💪✨ LMAO
