Can I have a function in php which would take an argument and return a value? Just like in java (for example if I type "$a=function(arg1, arg2);" variable "a" would be assigned with a value the function returned. Or it's not possible? If no, how can I approach this problem if I need to store and later manipulate the value which is calculated by calling a function? EDIT: nevermind, I figured, that a simple "return $var" at the end of the code does it.
Which text editor are you using? There is an area on the right side that looks like a browser. I don't get it. Is it the part of a browser or has the editor the server simulation?
@@Ab-cj6gl I've been learning for a year. I've been using core PHP and decided not to mess with big frameworks, I focused on: core functionality of php and creating web servers, built in functions and creating algorithms. I have created some amazing websites, and even made my own mini framework for a specific project. It all makes sense, but I still have much to learn. I still don't understand big frameworks so what I try to do is read their source code and try to understand!
@@navjotsingh2251 yessssss that's awesome I started with PHP my first ever lines of code were php then I started learning JS I'm in love with Javascript 😂 but I'll be learning PHP along with JS🙏
Wikipedia: The term parameter (sometimes called formal parameter) is often used to refer to the variable as found in the function definition, while argument (sometimes called actual parameter) refers to the actual input supplied at function call. Kindly correct your slides. You interchanged their meanings.

Good stuff. As a couple of others have noted, he mixes up parameters and arguments.
Parameters and arguments are reversed definitions

Arguments are Params, and prams are args in your video, correct me if i m wrong.
A parameter is a variable in a method definition. When a method is called, the arguments are the data you pass into the method's parameters.
Good tutorial. Could you please supply the name of this program.
Net Beans
