Definetly should watch wendigoon's full fnaf timeline. His just makes the most sense and easy to follow. His video is mostly just on the first 7 games, since thats mostly part 1 of the fnaf story, and mostly what we most likeley definetly know what the story is, since we dont exactly know what the full story is after UCN.
@Techbunny-x I think Matpats 4 part ultimate timeline is a good choice, and while it is also a bit outdated, it takes a more narrative approach to telling the story as opposed to most which are like an 80-90s dad sitting down with their son watching football and explaining it.
There are issues with that outdated MatPat one though 1. If Mike did work at FNaF2 after 1993, then how are the withered animatronics there if he's working Night 7? Night 6 says the place shut down after the bite and while the Toy animatronics are being scrapped, the Withered animatronics are being reused in the FNaF1 location and how would they still be active at that time if they were destroyed by William? That doesn't make sense since they were shut down afterwards 2. Part 4 makes no sense whatsoever. Because Mrs. Afton's name isn't Clara, even Scott confirmed that, she would be elderly at that point since it's after 2024, and Gregory isn't a robot or CC (we now have a clear name for him, Dave), and Vanessa isn't Elizabeth
I’m pretty sure some of MatPat theories are correct…just like what Scott said on Steam after FNAF4 came out…he said that MatPat did amazing work on Part 1,Almsot gotten FNAF2 correct,Did once again good job on Part 3(and at that time no one could solve FNAF4 lol)
MatPat's theories are quite good, most of them are reasonable and the first 3 parts of his full timeline series is good for newcomers. There are some other theorists that maybe have some theories that cover a few things better than Matpat, but most of those theories are not as newbie friendly.
The game is split into two categories. Modern Fnaf and Pre Book Fnaf. Pre-book is Fnaf 1 to Ultimate custom night. (By pre-book, meaning the graphic novel/books ain't as Influence or Impactful in the story exception to Lore books) Modern Fnaf Is heavily inspired in Books. This is from Help wanted, to Into the pitt Because of this Fandom is also Split. Into 3 Categories. Pre Sister location (Fnaf 1-4) Pre book (Fnaf1-Ultimate custom night) Post Fnaf Security breached. While the pre sister location side decreases over the years. Pre-book Fandom is still strong, as they considered everything post Fnaf Security breach as Non canon.

Nobody will blame anyone for having anything leaving them confused or details they missed in this franchise, even the people who actively theorize about the FNAF story as a job aren't sure about some parts of the story, even rather important sections of lore are highly debated. There really is a lot in the franchise, and the fact that the timeline could be arranged in a number of different ways and almost no theory doesn't have counter evidence, it should be quite obvious that things are never easy here lol. Glad you are seeming to enjoy the franchise so far though :3
