I am enrolling this year to Marangoni for ba in fashion design and I was wondering how the 1st classes are? Do they teach you how to stitch and pattern cut from scratch or do you have to know everything from before?
@@ananthuk7207 heyyy. I myself actually ended up going into Marangoni for fashion Ba so I can actually answer this myself now ahhaha. So they teach you EVERYTHING from scratch , pattern cutting sewing, etc. How to use everything and more, they’ll go at a beginners space and it’s very helpful if you don’t have a lot of experience or any experience at all. The only thing would say is it’s very helpful if you have a background in drawing. Id recommend to start drawing here and there now if you aren’t good at it cause the drawing classes are advanced for sure. They help you out even if you don’t know how to draw at all. But you definitely neeed to know how to draw a bit. Atleast a lil cause we started with simple things but immediately sky rocketed to still life, perspective drawings and life drawings.
@@katherineblood3414 hey I am applying to Marangoni for a BA in fashion styling and creative direction this Feb. I am from a very small town in India so this is going to be a big swing as I'll be taking an education loan. So i just wanted to make sure that it's the right decision, and there are placement opportunities as well. I would be really grateful if you could give me some genuine reviews and advice.
@@gargimittal7811 So if I’m being a 100% honest london is a pretty expensive place, the rent for accommodations and living expenses are also pretty up there. But as for the university I’m not doing styling, I’m in a fashion designing course. Our course entails with a lot of expenses that come from our own pocket when it comes to things like fabrics, equipments, materials, and so much more. I’m not sure with styling cause I’m pretty sure you guys aren’t making the clothes so you obviously wouldn’t have those expenses. As for opportunities there are quite a few! Thru-out our first year we had a lot of student fairs and branching opportunities talks etc. and one of my friend also got a paid internship thru this. I’m pretty sure we have a few opportunities here and there, Ofc nothing like what UAL offers but there are quite a few. Again I’m not too sure about placements just yet, and it’s not something I’m really worried about as of now. But we also have a career divisions they help you out with portfolios cv’s and etc for job applications. If you do decide on Marangoni (the london one) it’s an amazing place I met amazing people teachers a lot of school get togethers I personally really loved the vibe it’s not a huge campus it’s just a building but I guess it has its charm that way. I don’t know if this helped but that’s what I can tell.
@@katherineblood3414 that is very kind of you to take out the time to respond. I was actually considering the Milan campus. Is it possible to get a job after that ?
