I started my bible readings in Genesis, and I also got bored as I went further through. Now, I will go straight to the Gospels. Hopefully, this will make reading more interesting. Thank you for the tip.

Thank you so much! I actually remember when I was an atheist, my grandma is a Christian and she had the Bible laying around. I picked it up and started reading it like a normal book. She told me, “Oh no, you don’t have to read it like that, start with John, it tells the story of Jesus!” I said I wanted to read it like a normal book, since I was used to that. I was hardly able to get through a few pages before I got bored, wish I listened to her. Now, years later, look at me. 😂
I can’t even remember when I started for the first time since I was raised in a Christian home, but I do know once I started taking it seriously for myself as a teenager, I actually ended up starting in Esther, Philemon, Psalms, and Daniel. Now, I’m going through chronologically along with some daily devos! :)
I started with Romans cuz i already knew a lot of thing about Jesus' life ( cuz of school) and it helped me a lot with trying to live a more Christian lifestyle
Same here, I too started with Genesis now I'm in John, the Genesis part I was so confused while reading it and praying to God for a better understanding, as I'm reading John the language is simple and approachable and it also has many good verses❤
I saw this video a few months ago and started with John. Just 3 weeks ago I finished John, Mark, Matthew, and Luke in that order. Now I am reading Phillipians, and after I am going to read Jeremiah! (I only read Phillipians because its short, to prepare for how long Jeremiah is!!)

I started with Mathew and then read parts of Mark. I then bought a new bible and have been reading in chronological order. Genesis. Job. Back to Genesis ETC. I love it in Chronological order. But yes..I would definitely recommend being introduced to JESUS as soon as you start reading..I agree. Great video and awesome suggestion

Pray. And then start with the first word. Pray every time, and stop after the last word, 800,000 or so later. You can finish the Bible in 3 months if you read 30min a day, the avg American watches 3hrs of TV a day … most people are on social media at least 90min. All 3 want want your soul, choose your own adventure… Everyone is exactly as holy as they want to be. You’re not here by accident. There is no coincidence, only providence. Godspeed.
When I started reading the bible it was definitely tough. And I always feel bad saying this but if I am completely honest it felt boring and made me drift away from reading it(I started on genesis). Then I read Psalms and still was confused and bored. But when I read Matthew my whole perspective on the bible changed, and now I still struggle with motivation but the bible is so much more interesting to me.
I actually really enjoy the history parts of the Old Testament. I think it’s cool to see how God interacted with His people before Jesus was born. Edit spelling

Yes. It can bore you out of reading it. Starting in John actually is very helpful. But no matter what. You need to start in the beginning of each chapter. Go threw each chapter to the end. Those little pamphlets. To get through The Bible in one year. Doesn't show you the whole thing the Bible is actually saying. Unless you go from beginning to end. Not necessarily the 1st book. But, if you do read from the 1st book. It does make a lot more sense. After Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. People get upset looking at some things. Because you don't have the end yet, to explain it away. You can't have one without the other. The incest also loses a lot of people. Building the temple and lineage map does the same. Knowing more about these people's stories. Helps you to realize who people are in the Lineage line of Adam and eve. Jesus. Moses and so on. It makes it more readable. More interesting. This is my opinion. Everyone learns differently. But we can not read in a way that we're missing important things that we need to know and act on. It can also change the actual meaning if you do not read from beginning to end of each book.
Where to start depends on what you’re trying to get out of it. If you’re not saved, then absolutely start with the Gospel, and then continue to Acts and Romans. If you want to know the history, then read in chronological order where you’ll break from Genesis around the time of Abram (or just before) and read Job, then resume back in Genesis and continue reading the rest in chronological order. The important thing is to be consistent and read every day.

I have a much better suggestion. Read Spinoza: Theological-Political Treatise. Much better read, highly encourage you take notes and read this book several times over. Secondly! Read Spinoza! He is a Jewish man, a man of the cloth and he gives a much deeper insight, understanding and enlightenment to who Jehova or more commonly known as God.

Ecclesiastes and Psalms have been my favorite for a while along with Isaiah. Very wise words in those poetic sections of the Bible.

I did In genesis but followed along on videos.. I then look a break for study with me videos but I wanna adventure out

Yes! It’s so much history n the Old Testament. 9 times out of 10 the answer to “why?” or “how?” From the New Testament is found in the old.
