It's a good thing my home wasn't built on a pier or right on the waters edge. Makes sense to live in a house where there's absolutely zero chance for ocean waves to crash through.

I just don't get why a basic tropical storm situation, sure, multiple storms coming back to back, is causing the damage that it is, with over 100k people without power and maybe more as storms come. I would like to call it humbling, but I guess it means that they declare the emergencies based also on infrastructure capacities. It is disproportionate damage for the types of storms they are.
It’s honestly really sad that our Santa Cruz has turned like this. Haven’t had anything like it since 2017. Been living in this cute small town for about 12 years now. ❤
