I am 66 yrs old. Before I started kindergarten, my mom made sure we (3 kids) knew our ABC’s, how to count from 1 to 100, tell time, tie our shoes, and our name, address and phone number. Parents just don’t seem to be the same these days.
My parents were both teachers. Grandma kept me till Kindergarten. I could do all the above, print my name, sing all the words Lift Every Voice and Sing, 4 hymns and quote 3 Scriptures. The only TV I was allowed to watch was Mickey Mouse Club, Sesame St. and Captain Kangaroo. Ahhh the good old days.😊😊

Most of these babies don't have a home phone, but do have a cell phone, so they don't memorize ANY phone numbers.

I work at an elementary school. One of our students came back to excited to show us what he was working on over the weekend: 3 pages of addition, subtraction, adding fractions, multiplication problems AND info on planets. He told us his dad wrote out the questions and he answered them by himself. We believe it bc he’s in a gifted program at school. He know all 300 sight words and reading on a 2nd grade level. His PARENTS help him everyday. No excuse people!! Oh and he’s 6yrs old…KINDERGARTEN!!!

I’ve been screaming about the paternity test part for years. It should be mandatory to verify and match the unborn baby with the alleged father’s DNA while the baby is in the womb. No exceptions.
That paternity test is 100% necessary, I’ll go one further, men should be able to opt out of fatherhood the same as women, if a woman can give up her rights as a mother with no financial responsibility then a father should also. Put an end to baby trapping
@Mike Keltner Also make sure that Child support is automatically filed as soon as the DNA comes back 99% you are the Father. Men love complaining about baby trapping like they don't purposely and boastfully knock women up to keep them around for financial and physical gains. Though I do agree that paternity should be established at birth I also believe men should not be financially absolved from their responsibility for the children that they HELPED to create so no men should not be able to just opt out of Fatherhood simply because they want to avoid the child AND financial responsibility. The courts, laws, and life do not work that way. Stop spreading community D with these women yall complain about and that would put an end to the foolishness real quick 🤷🏾♀️.

I volunteer at my son’s middle school during the lunch period. I had on my University of Maryland sweater on with the logo. A seventh grader walked up to me and asked if I was a scout. I told him I wasn’t and asked what he’s going to major in when he got to UMD. He didn’t know what a “major” was. All he’d ever been told about college was related to sports. Sad.

To those of you who don't know: 7 days = 1 week, 4 weeks= 1 month, 12 months = 1 year. 365 days= 1 year, 52 weeks = 1 year.
All months do not have exactly 4 weeks, depending on the year. Especially, if there’s 31 days. Never do math that way you’ll miscalculate. All else is correct.

My kids had library cards before 3 yrs old...we lived in the library... my daughter was 7 reading Harry Potter and they each got to pick a book for me to read at bedtime. You manifest a want and need for them to seek information to carry thru life. Aont nobody gonna tell my kids something and they just believe it... they coming with the info or gonna get back witcha with the info
The library has a Summer Reading Program and I’m usually the only Black parent in there. My grandkids are about to have a rude awakening this summer. They will have fun but they will be in the program. I have some Math Sheets printed out too. Everything is scheduled out.
