    The loss of humanity in leadership is disheartening. 6 weeks after suffering cardiac arrest my employer told me they were eliminating my job. And these are people that constantly pound their chest about how much they care for employees and culture. The great resignation is happening because people finally have said enough to being treated as resources and not as humans.

      I rue the day when the Personnel Department became Human Resources. Arguably, what you tell of with your awful experience is the moment when leadership becomes management, when your organisation went from dealing with a person to dealing with a resource. Good luck with your future!

    I had a phone call during the week with IT support where the guy who answered the phone was extremely happy, chirpy which really took me back. The culture in my workplace is one where grumpiness, lack of humour and very direct conversations are common place so this calm with IT support was a pleasant and welcome surprise. I spent 15 minutes talking to him about a range of things and by the end of the call I had completely forgotten why I rang in the first place.
    I asked him why he was so happy and chirpy? He replied “Because I choose to be” A thoroughly refreshing outlook and perspective and one which gave me a renewed enthusiasm

    Spot on, Simon. Thank you. It's almost like some people think if they are cold and heartless in business that this will look better and lead to better results. The opposite is true. Who wants to follow a leader that is cut off from themselves and can't connect with other people, understand people's struggles and remove barriers to success? Humanity in business and government is the way forward. The sustainable, long-term, way, the infinite game. It also happens to be highly profitable, though not always right away.

    This message is for someone who needs to hear this and will fully understand it... You are not define by your circumstance or your past. It’s not what happened to you that determines your success in life; it is how you deal with those circumstances that determines your success in life. You are strong, you are capable and practice forgiveness (Forgiveness is for you; forgive your parents or anyone whom we have chosen to hurt us, to begin the process of healing and freedom. Remember: Forgiveness is for you to be freed, healed and happy. It’s a RESET BUTTON) and practice gratitude everyday. This will change the course of your life forever. Love you always and I believe in you wholeheartedly no matter what ✨❤️ - Nat

    So many managers feel threatened if their staff are better than they are at something. Either it embarrasses them or they think the person will think they could do their manager's job better that the manager does so they feel they have to put them in their place. In that scenario staff tend to move on. I am fortunate enough to have a good manager with the leadership qualities talked about in this video at the moment but I have had a lot of bad ones too.

One of most important traits that present leaders need and passing down this trait to their employees - helping the firm's work culture to improve truly within!

    As someone who was "summarily dismissed" for going to my boss and saying, "You promised to train me when you hired me last month. I have received no training. I have no idea what I'm doing, & sports analogies don't cut it w me since I don't watch sports. When will I get trained?" I can see why certain people would get that way.
    Since I have seen the knives come out and go straight into their back when they expressed the slightest weakness & "bad day", I get that. Growing up w a mother who took every exposed belly as a target for denigration & criticism, that took some serious work to overcome & NOT be that way w my wife later.
    Biz isn't getting more compassionate. Coddling kids w Safe Spaces has opened the door to Cancel Culture & firing people for non-work related personal opinions / beliefs / skin tone / etc.
    The Culture WAR is just getting started.

    Leadership is not a job; it's a principle. When leaders don't have any clue how to solve the problematic issues, they must definitely resign from their position and hand it over to other brilliant, talented, risk-taking counterparts who courageously embrace their vulnerabilities as moments of inspiration. In today's chaotic world, we are witnessing the spiralling out-of-control consequences of misleadership among many nations driven by those unqualified inapt leaders who arrogantly just stick to their high-ranking position. Hiding behind their incompetence, they don't even have the knowledge from whom they should ask for help, so they easily oppose any sharp critic as they find it a threat to their system.

  • @Vladimir-bt5xp
    @Vladimir-bt5xp 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    You may show your vulnerability and ask for help unless the person who you apply to is agressive traumatic and he will try to take adventage of this situation. I think it doesn't work naturally because most of us had experience when showing vulnerability led to our supression and eventually to our own trauma. So one should choose a person he opens up to

      Yes. But that could stem from many things and it may or may not be vulnerability or emotional professionalism. As a leader, you might need to look into it a little deeper and ask questions to determine which it is. Are they not trained enough? Are anxious? Etc.

    I also hate scripts or generic responses used in customer service for different types of customers. haay, just today, i asked for a copy of disconnection form, very plain and simple request. i was given a long response to discuss the policy about disconnection, but never got the form. why can't they just be allowed to answer straight to the point. "Sorry, I'm unable to send it via email due to security reasons, but you can go to the nearest branch and they'll gladly provide you with one."
