    I've only been playing bass for a couple months and I want to learn some fillers.. It'd be great if you made a video about it.

      Enoch Kemokai I don’t use the camera audio though. I use the sound of my bass recorded through my computer.

    Hey bro where can i get a drum machine from to work on my timing

    • @LanceShelton
      @LanceShelton  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can download a metronome for your phone, computer or you can use my metronome videos to practice. You don't need to buy a drum machine unless you just really want one. If you do, you can go to guitar center or another music store that sells them, or if you don't mind used stuff you can try to find one at a pawn shop or thrift store or like goodwill. sometimes they have stuff show up there.

    can u tell me the notes plzzz?

    • @LanceShelton
      @LanceShelton  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, it's simple. Pretty much the entire song is F# G# A, B C# D. (E-string: 2nd fret, 4th fret, 5th fret, A-string: 2nd fret, 4th fret, 5th fret.) You can just add fills where you want.

    do you prefer the 4 string bass over the 5 string?

    • @LanceShelton
      @LanceShelton  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sup bruh? It depends. There are times where I want the lower notes. Right now I'm on the road and I'm using my 5-string Fender, but there are times when I want a lighter bass so I can move and dance easier on stage. Also, it makes it easier to slap, but I still can do it on a 5-string. It just depends on what kind of player you are. If you prefer one over the other, then do it. Most of the time I do play a 4 string because it's what I'm used to. I never really got into a 5 until recently.

      Im just now starting off, ive heard the 5 string is better for church, but for now im using a 4 string.

    • @LanceShelton
      @LanceShelton  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's honestly a matter of preference. Neither is necessarily better. If you are coming out of an amp that has low wattage or just doesn't sound that good overall, the 5 string won't really do that much for you. A lot of people in church do use a 5 string because of the lower notes, but that doesn't necessarily make it better either. If I had a 4 string that had a better tone than the 5 string, then I would choose the 4 string every time. But what sounds good to me might not sound good to you.
      There are guys who (mostly) play 4 strings and sound really good like, Thaddeus Tribbett, Eric Ingram, or even Jamareo Artis. Well, Even Marcus Miller, Pino Palladino, or Victor Wooten. There is another guy on TH-cam called Young Chuck who plays 4 strings and that dude is nasty! While you should find out what is best for you, don't count the 4 string out just yet, but if you want to be a 5 string player, go try one out! Even if you don't want to, you should try some out anyway to see how they feel in your hands. Ibanez has thinner necks than most other 5 string basses if that feels more comfortable to you.
