Honestly, this guy is the best of them. No matter what people say, or will ever say. He is someone on a level like Mozart or Beethoven. If he would've lived at that time we would know him nowadays as one of big guys of classical music.
@@molochz I had the opportunity, after a long time, to see him live at Afterlife Mexico. You have no idea what you're talking about. His knowledge of synthesizers of this kind is unparalleled. You say he only uses 5 melodies and applies a filter to them. You're crazy, my friend. This guy doesn't even use Ableton to compose in rows. He does everything manually with his equipment, and then to see that he performs his Live shows with a modified device that he himself designed and adapted to his needs so he could use it in live performances with Ableton through a script is something I've never seen anyone else do. And on top of that, you have to know that he was one of the pioneers in Melodic Techno, mixing melodic trance melodies with techno and progressive house arpeggios. This guy is insane.
@@molochz The simple comparison is stupid, their styles, epochs, and contexts are very different. Mozart is known for creating classical compositions from the Baroque era, while Stephan Bodzin is an electronic music producer. It is evident that the techniques of composition, instruments used, and creative objectives are completely different. Mozart used complex techniques like counterpoint and tonal harmony to create his classical works, while Bodzin uses advanced technology for music production to create new and unique sounds. The only thing Bodzin might have comparable to Mozart is his sense of progression and structure, but undoubtedly, in terms of merit, both are extremely gifted in their respective areas. However, the historical context plays a significant role since Beethoven was someone who revolutionized and changed music in his time, and I'm not saying Bodzin hasn't done the same, but you can't compare doing something of this caliber in the 1800s to doing it in the 2000s. But for me, this is stupid. Music is made to be enjoyed, and it is very subjective, which is why there are infinite genres. Ultimately, the most important thing is to listen to it, feel it, and in a way, connect with it.
This is absolutely incredible. A lot of electronic performers are content to go onstage with a mixer and CDJs and just play then mix their tracks, or even less than that, play and mix other people's music. I've never seen a Bodzin set before today, but his live manipulation of synths and macros on his controller to perform this set has earned my fandom. What a talent.

@@johannmuller1314 Thanks for being somewhat respectful. I do own a mixer and a couple of old Pioneer CDJs that I used to practice on. I tried getting into it myself, but was always bothered by the fact that I was spending so much time mixing and beat-matching other people's music and never creating something of my own. Sure each DJ set is unique in the order you play and mix tracks, but it's akin to being in a cover band. Your performance of other people's music is different in the way you might go from one song to the next, and the way they are performed, but in the end it isn't your song. Not to be disrespectful but you have no idea about electronic music production do you?? The amount of time it takes to learn your DAW, oscillators, filters, ADSR, envelopes, automation, EQ, compression, delay, reverb, mixing, mastering, sidechains, parallel processing, music theory and the million other things involved in production is so much more difficult than skipping all that, letting someone else put in the work of learning the craft, and creating the music, then you just come along after they put in the work, sync to the beat, press play and fade in/out while EQing out dissonant noises.

A craftsman, a genius, an explorer full of devotion and pure, unbridled passion completely and utterly in tune with his instruments. A delight for all senses.
Bodzin live is about the best Techno/Electro/House music I have ever heard. I'm still dancing even though is set was a week ago :) Much love from Zurich!
This is one of the single greatest musical performances (in any genre) that I've seen in my entire life. Has no one else mentioned that he looks almost EXACTLY like the dancing old guy in the early-2000 Six Flags commercials?
Stephan Bodzin is like an energy ball of pure evil and pure love and both are trying to destroy one another at every turn but cant, cause if they did there would be nothing else to live for.
1,5 years into this and it still is the best set i've heard in my entire life. And I tell you what. I just bought Fostex T50rp with Shure 1540 pads just to experience this on the next level. In 3 weeks they'll arrive. No words for how excited i am.
Wow :) Yes Fostex is not nice for Electronic music. Bad stuff. I will go for beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO next. Because of your comment i looked arround and I will save directly for STAX L700 :) Thank you man. I am really excited. The sound of the Sub 37 is so front row, center, practically dry with just a little reverb/delay. It’s like the main character in every track, plus he’s recorded a bunch of the prerecorded harmony layers with it, too. Such a sexy beast.
I keep trying to find out something comparable but always come back. I´ve watched this video hundred times. For me, is no doubt the very best boiler room EVER!
Here with you. Some people say Bodzin is the B-serie or the soap opera of electronic music as he emphasize tense emotional moments a lot and overuse creshendos. I don't mind it's rather the classical music of electronic music to me.

I have been listening to electronic music since 1988 and this guy could play next to any of the greats of any year anywhere in the world. He's a class act. Producer, performer, DJ, crowd-pleaser, artist. Superb!!!!
i used to love bodzin but he's a one trick pony. all his tunes and mixes sound the same, like he found a sound and has been running with it for about a decade now. he needs to hit the refresher button and change it up, it got stale years ago.
***** Sterne!
He is playing Fri 14 April @ Bankside Vaults, 1 Invicta Plaza, South Bank, London, SE1 9UF. Along with Agoria, Gardens of God and Third Son. Will be incredible. and I
this is how you live. This is what people like Bodzin, Kink, Surgeon, etc. are propelling electronic music culture, specifically techno, into the realms of performance art. No longer are producers afraid to get deep into midi and programming a random set as opposed to pooling tracks for one. The art of DJing is just as much a minority to the entire scene but thankfully live electronic music with its steep learning curve will never see a saturation of mediocrity, ever.
Thats the fucking future, electronic LIVE music, channeled through a human body. He is taking us on emotional journeys not just boom clack, its a gourmet menue of synthesized sounds. An authentic other world. And an intensity that seduces to dance. He is playing him. When we let go all thinking, magic stuff like this happens. I wish everyone an transcendental and enlightening trip back home.
He said in an interview that this album to him was very personal. About his life, family, wife, children. Here quote from "Powers of Ten" album release on SoundCloud: Says Stephan Bodzin of the LP: “Powers of Ten has been with me all my life and is named after a book that has been my background hiss, its confusing truth is my only real faith and its infinity shows me its finiteness. The album is about harmonies, melodies, rhythms. It is an homage to Bob Moog, full of techno beats and sounds and space and party and ecstasy and dancing and listening, and crying and feeling. It is a journey, a philosophy of life, a view of the world, a vague perception. It is my wife, my children, my family, my friends, my passion, my enemy, my greatest fulfillment, my fear, my deepest peace, my power, all my love.”

42:50 still my favorite song of all time. What a masterpiece and, talented human. You can tell Stephan loves music so much
What an incredible artist, just unbelievable. And a very friendly, humble and smart guy as well. We're hoping you're going to stick around for much longer Mr. Bodzin, keep 'em coming!
This whole Boiler Room set feels like a celebration of good music
A craftsman, a genius, an explorer full of devotion and pure, unbridled passion completely and utterly in tune with his instruments. A delight for all senses.
80 minutes of pure genius and good vibes
Ive never seen a performance with so much emotion put in by the artist. Well done man.
Legendary set, once in a while I come back listening to this
True
Этот парень точно знает что делает, просто взрыв🧠 мозга!!!!!!!
Да согласен, есть к чему вернуться.
this is incredible. Best Boiler Room ive ever seen
+DeepDoseMusic yes me too
+DeepDoseMusic I agree, but you gotta check David August's liveset as well!
Mine'll be Karenn, love that kick
DeepDoseMusic kink BR Moscow
This guy is a real DJ and PRODUCER, no words for explain his high grade of art and knowledge of this music.
Direkt in die top3 der all-time-favorite-sets! Ich danke herzlichst,überirdisch gut kreierte Athmosphäre und musikalische zusammenstellung!!! 😘😍
Bodzin live is about the best Techno/Electro/House music I have ever heard. I'm still dancing even though is set was a week ago :) Much love from Zurich!
What you guys see here is a DJ who really enjoys the music he is making.
This is one of the single greatest musical performances (in any genre) that I've seen in my entire life. Has no one else mentioned that he looks almost EXACTLY like the dancing old guy in the early-2000 Six Flags commercials?
This is easy to appreciate i think even if techno isn't your favourite genre it is just fantastic.
this is not techno
Pavel Gurecki Yeah not really.
This is a mix of techno and Progressive deep house
Whatever it is, he smashes it.
I would like to call it tech-house :-)
I've waited so long for this to be archived, so happy that I can finally experience this again
+Nikzad Allahverdi same
+Nikzad Allahverdi SAAAAAME !
where was this set played ?
+Matthew Robinson i know bro :)but in wich Club ?
+mehdi larbi house of weekend ?
4 years ago this was the future, 4 years after is still in the future. Maestro!
THIS GUY IS A FUCKING GENIUS !!!!
Luigi de Wanker
exactly what i was thinking!!
Heard all these sounds back in 94
Wheres the genius?
And sven vath or jam & spoon were the originators of story telling
-The genius is in the groove and feel, not the sounds...
Sick set , i´ve heard it over 50 times , it´s just beautiful!
Stephan Bodzin is like an energy ball of pure evil and pure love and both are trying to destroy one another at every turn but cant, cause if they did there would be nothing else to live for.
Good acid??
1,5 years into this and it still is the best set i've heard in my entire life. And I tell you what. I just bought Fostex T50rp with Shure 1540 pads just to experience this on the next level. In 3 weeks they'll arrive. No words for how excited i am.
i'm listenning on my stax SR507, it's magic
Wow :) Yes Fostex is not nice for Electronic music. Bad stuff. I will go for beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO next. Because of your comment i looked arround and I will save directly for STAX L700 :) Thank you man. I am really excited. I think that by mid 2018 I will be able to get them and listen to Worakls - Good Night My Love Joachim Pastor Remix :) Try it on your STAX SR507 please.
God damn.. I keep coming back to this one.
2024 and still playing this shi on repeat! Bodzin you're a king! Those sets on XO outdoor were incredible
Still enjoy this LIVE-SET again, and again, and again.
Can 't get enough of this Bodzin sound
best BR since a long time! a journey into sound! He is great
+Bendeg couldn't agree with you more
+Robert FN journey into sound!
Robert FNb
Stephan Bodzin to me is like remembering what makes me dream, filing that space which was empty from the beginning
Best set I have ever heard
It sounds perfect like he is recording it at a studio.
www.be-at.tv/PYYHAA ;-)
IS IT A HERESY TO SAY GOD'S NAME IS STEPHAN , STEPHAN GODZIN ???
Klopt. Heb z'n hele set live mogen meemaken op LoveLand!! ((:
Behoorlijk ja!! 👌
The sound of the Sub 37 is so front row, center, practically dry with just a little reverb/delay. It’s like the main character in every track, plus he’s recorded a bunch of the prerecorded harmony layers with it, too. Such a sexy beast.
@@-------No------- Thanks for sharing this quote!
I keep trying to find out something comparable but always come back. I´ve watched this video hundred times. For me, is no doubt the very best boiler room EVER!
Came for Bodzin, saw the ad for Star Trek Beyond. DOUBLE WIN!
This man comes from an another planet and he loves our planet;)
2021
It is still my favorite set.
Am with you
Here with you. Some people say Bodzin is the B-serie or the soap opera of electronic music as he emphasize tense emotional moments a lot and overuse creshendos. I don't mind it's rather the classical music of electronic music to me.
@@lm-vr4kg He makes art and there is no question. He is far from being a Guetta.. LOL!
We are 29 with u bro
try extrawelt live arte. another level imo
Such a massive Set from Bodzin .. never seen something like this before !!! Magic !!!
One year later and the light of the play button, its still turned on.
Hopefully on autoplay ;)
Definitely the best boiler room I've ever seen and listened too, the transitions are seamless. The artist looks so involved and on top of that, one of the best crowds as well. I wish I was there, would trade my left kidney.
Yeah without a doubt the best boiler room set I've ever seen. Bravo Stephan.

I come back to this set alot. Amazing
the sound design is amazing, the mood he transports is facking great, thank u man!
How can anyone dislike this… I mean it’s incredible… what a set! what a artist, Godzin.
Im crying. Beautiful emotions straight from his soul!
That Moog man, it sounds so freaking dope. I want one.
Stephan Bodzin is the best modern music available in this decade.
LeukeGast not only! Listen Moderat or Rone! Arnaud Rebotini and Laurent Garnier
i used to love bodzin but he's a one trick pony. all his tunes and mixes sound the same, like he found a sound and has been running with it for about a decade now. he needs to hit the refresher button and change it up, it got stale years ago.
It is the best Boiler Room scene I did see
@@paulcurran7610 I saw him at secret project and I felt the same way.
Jaw dropping. what a guy. So much passion, so much feel. All his sets simply magic. Love it
This man produce MUSIC + ELECTRONIC MUSIC and he plays LIVE SETS! I love him.
this guy's a fucking magician, wish to see him live one day
***** Sterne!
Nur 3?
lang lebe das kraut!
I'm convinced: this is the stuff dreams are made of.
What an insane fucking set. Downloaded every song. This man is a mastermind and honestly deserves more recognition.
This set made me fall in love with techno 4 years ago. I even started learning how to produce EDM. GOATzin
I know! For me a set with Depeche Mode made me fall in love with Judas Priest 40 years ago.
2021 and this set still smashes it, amazing . 💣🔥🥳
I could cry for the joy of this - sometimes I do. What a legend
So I am glad I am not the only one... :-P
This set is beyond epic, can’t say enough about the talent, the passion, and just the pure joy he gets from doing this, simply outstanding
His face expressions reveals a lot about his music :D

infinity..Perhaps..So do I!
Veritable communion avec sa musique...L'apanache des grands!!!
The Buddha if he reincarnated as a DJ. You can tell this man is enlightened by how he feels at one with the music.
Stephan Bodzin HAS TO tour South Africa, major support here!
More likes.
If he tours in UK, screw it, I'll just go!
No dates in the UK in the foreseeable future, Amsterdam seems to be the closest and that's for festivals.
Daarsy, sien hom in 'n maand kan nie wag nie.
He is playing Fri 14 April @ Bankside Vaults, 1 Invicta Plaza, South Bank, London, SE1 9UF. Along with Agoria, Gardens of God and Third Son. Will be incredible. and I
This guy is an alien!!!!!!! Love is creativity, skills, songs, style... a genius!
THE WORLD CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THIS SET
Спасибо Штефан за эмоции! С любовью из Молдовы!
who else can smell the room? amazing set, still coming back to it 2021
this is how you live. This is what people like Bodzin, Kink, Surgeon, etc. are propelling electronic music culture, specifically techno, into the realms of performance art. No longer are producers afraid to get deep into midi and programming a random set as opposed to pooling tracks for one. The art of DJing is just as much a minority to the entire scene but thankfully live electronic music with its steep learning curve will never see a saturation of mediocrity, ever.
well of course DJs have nothing on producers/live performers
The Hans Zimmer of techno
This.
Nice valoration!!!
Perfect
for sure !!!!!!
Why i am laugh so hard
Can't get enough of this, esp the first 20 mins. OMG! Can't wait to see you in person and live
PURE GENIUS. Love this man's sets soo much... could listen for eternity
I played this set and time stood still. Who needs drugs? Absolutley Splendid.
Stephan Bodzin has a unique sound, one of my favorites for sure!
From 36:00 it sounds like he is telling a story.. this is really beautiful
he is playing an instrument. :)
Laura S it the mark of a True Musician.
Is fantastic 🙏🏼
He said in an interview that this album to him was very personal. About his life, family, wife, children. Here quote from "Powers of Ten" album release on SoundCloud:
Says Stephan Bodzin of the LP: “Powers of Ten has been with me all my life and is named after a book that has been my background hiss, its confusing truth is my only real faith and its infinity shows me its finiteness.
