actually WUKO karate was also fastest is the winner ... and at higher level with better refs its not touch, they actually bash each other quite hard. Hence the chest guards, thicker new style mitts, etc. Agree with you that WUKO karate was better, however i think in the sense that it still had a sense of 'budo' karate in it. WKF karate is no different to TKD no except on point value of techniques they score and the number of rounds. Otherwise both are same.

1st for contact, 2nd & 3rd for grabbing, I think the 4th was inappropriate. But there you go, inexperienced refs make for a bad match. Sad thing was Raphael wasn't even trying to milk any points.
The current WKF rules are hopeless. Today karate is funny and not real. Whoever touches the opponent faster is the winner . So the cat is chasing the mouse. But cat can't absolutely hurt a mouse. WUKO Karate was much better. Obecne przepisy WKF są beznadziejne - powodują że takie karate to nie jest żadna sztuka walki tylko zabawa w ganianego czyli kotka i myszkę - ale kotek nie może zrobić myszce krzywdy. WUKO karate było dużo lepsze.
