We live in perilous times and in a society that affirms doing wrong in the name of the Lord. We have become comfortable with a profession of faith in Christ, yet our hearts remain far from him. We are more focused on appearing “spiritually woke” than being in true relationship with Christ. We have no regard for how this brings reproach upon the Lord, but as you said, it doesn’t matter how much we read our bibles, pray, or even profess faith if there is in any of us an evil, unbelieving heart; our profession is nothing more than empty words! We must be careful how we put our words before the Lord, and even more than that, we must be especially careful not to put words in his mouth because of our sensuous thoughts which confuses our own thoughts, desires, and emotions for divine communication. The Bible says in 1 John 4:1 to test every spirit to see whether they are from God, and in Jeremiah, we are further instructed to be careful of false prophets who claim to speak for God but are truly not sent by Him.
