He was given the wrong medications for anxiety that he suffered. Over time the meds ate his liver. He died from a staff infection after liver transplant.
He was a great musician and humble human being.

This is a great tune from Rory's underrated 1987 Defender album. His health problems had ramped up, and he said that he felt as if an evil shadow had passed through him while making the record.

THANK YOU! To answer your question, Rory was an alcorholic, he had cirrhosis of the liver. Had a liver transplant back in 95 and died that same year from complications. This is NOT one of my favorite Rory choons however. Give a listen to Bullfrog Blues, Tattoo'd Lady, MoonChild, Secret Agent and most especially Calling Card. And watch the live performances...he was always better live. Bit of trivia for you...rumour has it that Rory was Mick and Keef's first consideration to replace Brian Jones when he died. RORY ON dude!
