I didn't get to understand why trainees who have been trained as translators have difficulty in finding a job there. There are many translation agencies there too, I guess? Or maybe it is not sustainable to live as a freelancer? 🤔
There are not so many agencies for translators and also in EU institutions you always work with your native language, the agencies may require for example French which might not be one of the languages that you can use for translations so it becomes difficult :c
Cause they're enough vacancies and too many translators and interpreters that are fonctionnaires...old school! Besides the majority of these vacancies is for lawyers-linguists, meaning you have to have a Law degree! 😢
I know that as a consultant (for example you're employed in Portuguese consultancy and they send you to Lux) you can, privetely I'm not sure, you have to check it out
