I was 17 in 1978 & on my construction sites in the North of France I listened to the radios Mi Amigo & Caroline and my bosses grumbled "we don't understand what they say on your radio". "I don't care, the music is SUPER". Thank you men
1979 to 1980 was my favourite era of Radio Caroline, with the Dutch language during the day and English shows through the night. I used to rush home from work and couldn't wait to switch on my radio to listen to Caroline. Sadly it all ended in March 1980 and though the station has returned in various guises since then, I can not get excited about it nowadays as much as I did. Though I'm pleased she is still on the air.
It was that period of the late 70's that i & many friends were obsessed with Radio Caroline & the Caroline roadshows, almost every record they played was brilliant & Caroline introduced me to some awesome bands that i still love today. I still have my signed black and white photo of Caroline from Nick Richards ( or was it nigel tibbles)?
