    Sanctions are always a slow working tool, but in the long term they are more desastrous than all the weapon deliveries. The budget deficit of Russia is so dramatic that end of the year all savings of the last 20 years will be used up.

    Putting Putin to rest sounds like a part of any peace deal. And ending Putinism is required to complete a peace deal. I am not a Ukrainian but I am very concerned for the future of Ukraine and its people. When you have a monster under your bed, you don't just go back to sleep and hope it goes away. A very sober discussion. Respect to all Ukrainians. Especially those fighting and their families.
    That said, we will never be doing enough until this war is won and Ukraine has security for the next 60 to 100 years. Not only them. But us, too. We have a lot of work to do to make that happen. This is just the first counteroffensive. We need to be looking forward to properly resourcing the second and third and beyond. It's important that Russians (and especially those that run the country) understand that there will be no respite.
    The more decisive we are in the help that we give now, the faster this immediate conflict will be resolved and the less this will cost us all in the long run. Remember: for the Kremlin Ukraine is just the first stepping stone.

    Very nice exchange. I advocate a rapid acceleration of military engagement by Ukraine & its allies, up to and including long range attacks on the Russian infra structure. I find it ludicrous that Russia can attack with impunity, while Ukraine must observe artificial limits on what and who it may retaliate against. And , I do not enjoy the wartime humor while thousands of innocents are dying.

    I think this is the first Ukrainian I've heard that seems to really understand that Zeitenwende is not something quick and easy.
    Which is quite impressive, because while Ukraine (&Poland, & the Baltics etc) has been going forward actively during the last 10-20 years, "old Europe" has sort of been in a sleep. Desperately clinging to a hope of Russia mentally catching up, not wanting to see that it was going in another direction.
    In many ways what has happened is even more of a mental shift than the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw pact. That just melted away and fantastic flowers of national expression and vibrancy sprouted everywhere. But it was still the stability of the post wwii world, just better.

    My point to discuss law through the United Nations was to find more ways than the security council... underneath all that is some sort of soviet nest with disputed boarders, but the boarders were set when each nation joined the UN. Is this all more about trade policy and the world trade organization?

    42:00 No peace deal with Muscovy is possible until the final collapse of Muscovy, and especially with so called beautiful Muscovy of the future dreamed by the Muscovite pseudo liberals. Instead of storming the heavily fortified positions, Ukrainian army could easily destabilize Muscovy right now by liberating defenseless Bělgorodъ, Bręneskъ and even Měnьskъ, but the USA, EU and NATO are strongly against such escalation.

  • @betterdonotanswer
    @betterdonotanswer ปีที่แล้ว +1

    48:50 Muscovy fall into political instability after the defeat against Japan only because it still owned Ukraine, where the revolution of 1905-1907 mostly took place, in form of the anarchist rebellions, military mutinies and growing separatism. Without Ukraine, Finland, Poland and Lithuania nowadays Muscovy is much more stable. Only few national republics such as Tatarstan, Buryatia, Yakutia or Tuva would be ready to secede right now.

      Detoxifying Germany at the end of WWII required many years of research with public trials and executions. Stalin was equally responsible for starting World War 2. But never suffered any consequences. A war crimes trial should follow this war!

    52:03 counteroffensive... Crimea is difficult; tough, long and bloody. 400,000 Russians total in Ukraine, they cannot repeat their large scale Russian invasion. Ukrainian slogans are their own encouraging propaganda, not realistic, Ukrainians cannot go to the beach in Crimea this September for party and cocktails. Ukraines counteroffensive is their only chance this year to recover some territory. Will cost a lot of lives. Need long range fires... that means accurate 300 km missiles
