    Very cool that the company donated your new device!🙌🏼 I have done that before, spent a lot of time doing a special episode, only for my footage to crap out. It’s so disappointing. But you still recovered nicely with demo’s.

    Those are really cool devices! I sub radioactive drew, so I'm very familiar with the radiacode 102 and 103. Both awesome devices! Way better and more handy than your other one! And it is great to just take on hikes with you. Drew has his in his pocket when he goes antiquing or thrift storing! They detect things you would never expect! They arent dangerous, but they are reactive! Thanks Jared for the information! Sorry you lost your original footage! That sucks! 😔

      Maybe I can convince Drew to hang out sometime and go look at some mines!

    So Cool! I work in a radiochemistry lab, and I've never heard of these guys -- this would be very useful in our work, especially to have a hand held spectrometer. Also, I would think this would turn Uranium prospecting upside down!!

    • @CurrentlyRockhounding
      @CurrentlyRockhounding  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It makes the uranium prospecting feel like it's now on easy mode as you can just walk around and look at your phone from time to time.

    Did I miss you saying if the radiation was high enough to corrupt your video or if it was just random. This is new to me. Very little of this, except the glass, is ever talked about up in Canada. Really interesting.

      That's not what happened to the video but there will be more future mine visits!

    Investigation, it's important to stay safe worked with patients that had radioactive implants. Wore my badge consistently. Not sure how good those were, hopefully they were fine.

    Totally "RAD" from start to finish. Not a complete loss in my humble opinion, new toys are a win. Was the corruption from the intensity of the rads you encountered or just the luck of the draw kind of thing? If it was due to the high levels of radiation material around you while recording, then wow. You were showing the pathing on a map at the 6:00 minute mark with highs and lows around a hill-ish region, was that the area you had been traveling when recording the lost content? You still got some data if so, and that's a great start to a "find the source series" you kind of got going on already. There is a gold prospector I enjoy watching in Australia where that is what he is always showing "how to find the source". Very refreshing information all the time from you.

      I think it was just a bad SD card.
      No, that was solely a local prospect with some lightly elevated sources.

    My father had lots of rocks he collected and he died of a tumor. He wasn't very careful about grinding rocks and breathing the dust so he bit the dust. I'd only want one to warn me to stay away from these objects.

    The radiation could have messed with your video. We had some problems with the cameras when we were inspecting the reactors in a nuke plant. We had to get special lenses
