The difference with fans excusing Carly’s action is cause we’re fans but the characters in the show don’t excuse her except Sonny and Jason. They’ll call her out but defend her to others. Nina on the other hand has people trying not to hurt her feelings or when they do tell her the truth she wants to invalidate how Sonny’s family feels because she wants someone to see that she’s right. Carly has been around long enough to not care what others think about her or want anyones opinion on her unlike Nina who wants to act like she didn’t do anything wrong and constantly says she only cares about Sonny but her actions before and now don’t show it. Put aside the adults, she didn’t and is still not thinking about his kids and what she did, did to them. She really is using the void Nelle left her for that brief moment to be filled by Wiley and hate her or not Carly made this point that it’s not Wiley’s job to do that. Her time in NF did not heal her cause she only ignored it and forcused on a façade. She has to mentally accept what Nelle has done and who she was as a person because she couldn’t have changed her no matter what. Nelle was too entitled to what Carly has to ever change and no amount of mothering in that short time would’ve changed that.
