🙏 Thank you. I have tried before but didn't cut off the bottom. The gathering focused on the front and back and not the sides is such a good idea. Easy to follow the guidelines. Much appreciated for the upload.
Thank you for this detailed video. My girl is growing so fast and she loves dresses. This way i can give her a good looking dress from the dresses and shirts she grew out off.
Great question! It is easier to see what you are doing if you sew looking at the wrong side. However, I do not like to have the bobbin side of the stitch on the right side of the garment. So as much as possible I will sew with the right side up. It is a person, nitpicky thing. 😅 On sone machines the bobbin side of the stitch is noticeably different.
On this project I used a regular straight stitch and overlock. If it is a fitted knit project a zig-zag or overlock will prevent popped stitches. I did overlock the waistline after attaching the skirt. I hope this helps. 🧵
I have something similar. I will post it at the end of this comment. The process is the same you just need more fabric for an adult skirt. Happy sewing! th-cam.com/video/gRArL2PtxGw/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=StacyRobbins
The amount of fabric is determined by how long and wide you want the skirt. For a child, if using 60" wide fabric you likely will only need the length of the skirt plus a little for seam allowance and hem. For an adult you will need twice the length of the skirt. I will be posting another video of a similar project soon with pockets and fabric info.
🙏 Thank you.

Same, no need to cut the shirt.

Nice. Gave me am idea for a dress for my nieces. Thanks for sharing!
Happy sewing! I am sure they will love their custom outfits from Auntie.💖
I'm interested in seeing an adult version of this.
I am planning one! Coming soon!
Excellent video
Thank you very much!
Why do you hem the garment on the right side versus the underside when you can see the edge of the fabric/serged hem?

Are you using a stretch stitch on your machine?

How did you know how much material you would need?
