My 150g was not evaporating enough for my Kalkwasser to keep up with demand, I started adding vinegar to the kalk mix and bing bang BOOM... I'm on PAR 🙂 Ur corals are amazing! I'm still too scared to put too much $$$ of coral into mine.
One kick butt beautiful tank and I hope my tank looks like that. I'm getting a 29gallon tank, can I still grow sps corals in it. It's 30 in. Long and 18 in.high.
Yes. It can be downloaded from this page: www.captiv8aquaculture.com/. It is within the paragraph that starts with this..."Need help applying ICP results to your system?"
@@ReefBum yes I would know if they could give a + to a beautiful reef tank same you have or not. It would be just for a test. I would test start with sponge power two months , then coral vitalizer, then acro glue. Not same time but each one after two month to see if they really make a change or not in coral coloration. Picture befor and after. And if yes we have to figure out what is inside 😬😜.

I am not a fan of the Gyre pumps. I did try one in that tank (Maxspect XF350 Gyre) but it wasn't pushing the water I was expecting. The MP60's are more powerful in my experience. I do have all of my MP40's and 60's on Gyre mode. The Gyres themselves are also a PIA to clean. Sometimes they do not function properly after I do maintenance.....too many parts to disassemble, clean and put back together. I have many sitting on the shelf now collecting dust.
@@ReefBum Interesting, my experience has been completely opposite. I have cheap Jebao gyres that just plain work, and take no more than 30 minutes to clean. I had endless upon endless problems with my MP40s - rust, bearings going back, and so on.

@@ReefBum That is very interesting. I always thought from my research that many of the 'SPS tank of the year' tanks had super low PO4 and also the Triton Method seems to recommend very low PO4 to NO3 ratio.
Really? Strong lighting, strong flow, elevated pH and dialing in trace elements in conjunction with using a new salt do not provide insight into how I have achieved success with this tank? Should I have not mentioned any brand names to keep people guessing as to what I use? Or would it be better if I field the exact same questions about what I use over and over again in the comments or direct messages? I did put that disclaimer in the video about having material connections with the brands I discussed in the video so I am being upfront with folks, something not all creators will do. Again, I only use stuff that I believe is best for my animals.
I disagree with your comment. I have kept reef tanks for a long time and can safely say this man, Keith follows a good scientific and evidence based approach. His recommendations come from experience and in the video I agree with all of his points. Lighting, flow, consistency, maintaining a high PH, correct trace element dosing. These rules apply regardless of what products you use, and I know from experience his advice works. He was also completely open and honest in the video. Do you keep reef tanks out of interest? What qualifies you to say that's not how to be successful? Keith's tanks speak for themselves.
Beautiful. You should do a video on your Kalk setup. Even though it’s Meckly’s method it would be great to see yours in more detail!

Awesome and inspiring tank. My next tank is definitely going to be like that. Even thinking if cloning it…
Those topdowns are fantastic!

we've also used Mitras here with a good result. the light blends well than we think. Thanks for sharing the great tank progress ! it's inspiring.
Great video, straight to the point. Have a similar size tank alas it is still on a pallet in the garage.
Good luck! Keith is the guy with the know how to get it right. I’ve read his books and paid for 1 to 1 call with him and my tank is thriving now!

Same here. I have a 6ft and two gyres on either side to make sure flow reaches the other end

I would never be able to get a frag from you. My tanks are simple and I use Red Sea salt. Fauna Marin products are in use as well
What nutrient levels are you maintaining to achieve that growth?
Phosphate is in the .02 to .03 range and nitrates are around 10. I would like to elevate the phosphates a bit and drop nitrates to around 5.
