Just found your channel!! I too just started collecting American Girl dolls. 🙂 All of mine have come from thrift stores but are in decent condition. Thank you for sharing your collection. 🙂
Welcome to TH-cam! If you hadn't said so, I would not know this was your first video. You did great! I've only been collecting AG for maybe 5 or 6 years and understand the rabbit hole. They are wonderful. Like you, I have collected off and on for years and have a variety of dolls and toys. Feel free to do videos on all your doll/toy lines. I would like to see them.
oh thank you so much! I get a little nervous, but hopefully that will get better with time :) I will definitely show off my collections. Thank you for commenting- I really appreciate it
Welcome! Great job on your first video. I too collect many different doll brands and for many many years collected the MA dolls too. Most of mine are the 8” they take up much less room so you can display more in a small space! I do have a few 10” Ladies but not very many. Now I, of course like you, collect the AG and they take up way way more room. Thankfully I have a doll room including a dollhouse but it is pretty full in there. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
thank you so much. I think you need a channel so we can see your collection- it sounds amazing! Yes they definitely take up way more room than the MA. I used to have the little ones displayed at my old house in a cabinet- I may have to display a few once I dust them off a bit lol They really need to be out and seen. Thank you for commenting and I hope you will keep in touch :)
Welcome 🤗 What a great start to your channel! It’s nice to get to know you. I have been collecting AG dolls from the early Pleasant Company days. I collect other dolls / toys but keep it AG focused on my channel so far. I love that you share such a diverse collection. That Jenny doll and story is so sweet!
Thank you so much! I will definitely check out your channel. Wow the Pleasant Co. days- that is so awesome. I wish that I had started back then. I'm definitely on the look out for an older Samantha doll :) I hope to get one someday. Good to meet you
Oh, you’re so refreshing thank you for sharing some of your collection and your fines. Lea looks perfect, her sandals are some of my favorite shoes in American girl line I also love the little Fisher-Price doll. Oh my goodness you must feel so reunited. 😊
oh thank you so much :) I definitely feel reunited with her- I just cleaned her up so I will be posting a video of her pretty soon :) Thank you for commenting
Hi from a NZ collector. I just watched your 2nd video and I bought Corrine on special too. I got her off Amazon before Christmas for an excellent price, so cute. I am an older collector and started with AG, I have about 14 now. I have my little childhood doll (1960s)who needs new clothes. Your collection looks great. Nice to meet you, will look forward to more videos 😊
thank you so much for commenting. I’ve noticed Amazon has some good deals on AG dolls once in awhile. Does NZ have AG dolls in any stores near you? Can you only get them online ?
@@HollysDollies22 no we can't buy them in shops here unfortunately. We can get some brand new on our Auction site Trade Me, but can be expensive. But we can get second hand as well on there, just a case of what you find. I would like to do a Disney trip (had one booked but had to cancel in 2020 ) and go to an American Girl store. Thanks so much for your reply 😊
yes you must come to Disney- its so much fun. The AGD store is only about 25 min away from there- mostly all freeway. Its a great store. @@debbiesullivanstoneivydoll5646
@@HollysDollies22 I hope to one day. My husband and me went to Disneyland back 2010, we went to the LA farmers market and I saw the AG shop there, but wasn't into them then, so close. Lucky you living so close to Disney and AG store. Will be looking to see who you buy next 😁
Nice collection! You could try norwex stain remover. I have had good results with that, though! Otherwise, use Borax and washing soda in HOT water and letting it soak for a while. I have a lot of my childhood dolls, but if I don't, I like collecting the re-releases too!
Hi Holly! I collect American Girl dolls and Fisher Price "My Friend" dolls. Did you know that you can wash the FP dolls in the washing machine? I just put mine in a pillowcase to wash and then let them air dry. I got my first My Friend Jenny from my mother in law for my 21st birthday back in 1978. I still have her.
oh my gosh- I didnt know that- thank you for letting me know. I just actually got done shooting a clean up video of her ,but that is so good to know- thank u :) Do you have the other dolls as well? What a fun memory. Mine is also from 1978 :)
@@HollysDollies22 Yes, I have Mandy (from Savers, and she came with a patchwork-looking outfit that I guess was sold at the time.) and I have Becky who I bought on eBay. They are so cute! I am wanting to make them dresses like the old "Ginghams" paper dolls.
oh that is so fun! I will definitely be on the look out for them. I loved those little Gingham paper dolls- they were so sweet! Great memories @@nanasewdear
nice to meet you and welcome to the community!! i just posted my first video, and i’ve been collecting only for a couple months myself 😅 definitely feel you on getting a bit carried away quickly, but no regrets!
oh wow that is so cool! we are definitely on the same path here lol Yes its so easy to get carried away lol I see they are coming out with something Disney this week? I have no will power LOL I will check out your channel. Good to meet you and I cant wait to see your collection. Thank you for commenting
where did you get your display cabinet? i love it i recently started collecting stuff from my childhood bout a year ago lol first it was vintage Polly Pocket 💕, now pleasant company, American Girl & im 43 yrs old … it makes me so happy but u can rack up the money fast lol
It's from IKEA- I think it's the Billy bookcases? It's been so long I forget the name. You can change the doors out and I opted for the glass one in the middle there- I do remember that :) If I come across the name I will let you know. Yes this gets expensive fast especially since us 40 years olds are buying up our childhood and eBay knows this LOL The prices just shoot up on some of this stuff. Oh I love Polly- so fun! Thank you for commenting
ok thanks!! thats what ive been looking at to get is the Billy cabinets , but i dk you could get the big glass doors. they look really nice as the backdrop!!
@@stephaniefriend9912 Im looking at the IKEA website and Im thinking its actually the Hemnes units? I think my Billy's are downstairs ,but I think these are the Hemnes :)
I just learned to help get any smell out, place a bar of Irish Spring deodorant soap (green) and item (doll) in an air tight container for as long as needed making sure soap doesn't touch. The lady who told me this trick says it works well .(She used it on cigarette smoke). If you try this method please let us know how it worked out!
Great introduction video! I love your collections and your display!
thank you so much :) I appreciate the comment

My wife has gone completely batty for American Girl dolls lately. At what point should I consider an intervention?
oh you should definitely let her buy whatever she wants whenever she wants- like today perhaps LOL Youre so funny! love ya
I'm a pediatric nurse, I collect AG dolls and live in Cental Florida about 35 min North of the AG store! Lets connect some time.
