How do you remove the battery when the scooter is in closed position? Recently I was travelling on an aircraft and had to remove the battery before the flight. Obviously the scooter can't be open and once the battery is removed you cant close it!!?? Basically we had to force the steering column away to get access to the battery to remove it. Surely there must be a better way???
Great Question. The scooter can be folded and unfolded manually for instances like this. If you take a look in the user manual you will see that there is a bar that you push which will allow you to unfold it slightly to remove your battery and then you can fold it back up using the same lever. Hope that helps.
I like....something Auto is nice but do wish the back support was better overall like but the two cons the back support and that irritating beeps overall love it!

Good morning, Yes the battery can be removed and charged the charger port is also located below the seat underneath a rubber cap this would be used whilst battery is on the scooter. to charge the battery off the scooter you would need to purchase an off board charger. We do not deliver to the USA i am so sorry. You would have to contact the USA Freerider for further information. Thankyou
Please sir, can you give the name of the model? I can't find it on the manufacturer's website and would like to ask them if there is a distributor in Switzerland. Thank you very much, also for your demonstration.

I have been using a Pride Go Go Elite Traveler mobility scooter that disassembles into 3 main sections for carrying in my car's "boot". At age 84 with decreasing strength, hefting the separate sections and battery in and out of the "boot", and assembling them, is getting a little hard to do. A light lithium battery would help. The various Auto Fold designs all look like they have to be hefted into the boot in one folded piece. If the metal pieces of the scooter are made of aluminum and battery is of the lightweight Lithium type, it might be doable to load the folded scooter into your car "boot". The Next Gen example , including use of "remote" looks a little too complicated for many oldsters. Can the scooter can be folded and unfolded with a dead battery or lost remote ? I would worry about reliability with the added electrical complexity of any autofold design. There is some benefit of compactness for storing indoors if you don't need to lug it up stairs. I advise first time buyers to do some research into ease of use as well as long term availability of local service and repairs.
