I'm sick of farmers in their £200k tax deductible tractors (they buy new ones as often as they can to hide their profits and dodge tax). Yes they work hard but so do others ,... anyone but a farmer with £3MILLION has to pay 40% IHT. Labour are only asking farmers with £3MILLION to pay 20% IHT (over TEN years). Why can't farmers pay tax like anyone else ??? Rich Tories always dodge tax ... the richer they are the greedier. 😐
Labour just want to destroy farming and business in the UK ! They are an absolute disgrace!! All manifestos broken and the economy crashing we find now….
Labour just want to destroy all farming in the uk and small businesses. The economy is now crashing under their government. Control is the first step to communism!!
🤔 Farmers made fortunes from EU subisdies then voted for the Tory brexit, shafting themselves , fishermen , industy & everyone. Then they voted for the disaster Tory aussie trade deal. Now they want to pay less tax than the rest of us who have FAR LESS. They want to use NHS, Schools , police etc ..... but they want US to pay not them. I'd rather eat food produced to a higher standard in the EU than de-regulated brexit food from our river polluting, tax dodging, endlesly moaning , tory farmers 😊
I would love someone to explain to me why farmers think they are above taxation. They are still getting a 50% discount on IH tax. If you can't afford to pass your significant wealth onto your entitled brats then maybe you are miss managing your land, perhaps it's time to start selling some land to allow others to into the ramming fraternity
They can use a trust fund to make sure that the children inherit and pay no tax. They could have complained about the Brexit deal, about the New Zealand arrangement over tarrifs - but no - they choose to whine about something that all rich people work to avoid. It just means a bit more paperwork for them. No sympathy.
I knew one farmer. He had inherited his 1000 acre farm and his twin brother inherited a similar amount. He won't be happy, but he will be pragmatic: he'll no doubt get a trust set up so that tax can be avoided. He'll whinge about the paperwork but he always did. He'll be fine.
if they were campaigning for a better deal from the supermarkets or a restriction on the cheap garbage imports that are flooding the uk then they would have my support but i will never support people who want to be treated as 'special' and not pay their taxes
I'm sure they are upset, but hey, welcome to the club - the austerity of the lat 14 years has hit those who are just about coping.
No one will be coping now under this disgraceful government..
Lies,deceit and control!!
This is the first step towards communism!
I work hard too, and i dont get tax deductions

We didn’t. Another assumption. You people are something else.
Having a red bar at the bottom of the video will convince some people they have already watched your videos....
Keep going!
Loving the outrage despite do they drive to London using red deisel or ordinary stuff
Oh right. Do you know many of the farmers who were on the protest? Didn’t think so.
No such thing as a poor farmer ;)
there are poor farmers, but there are lots of rich ones too, money has poured into farms to dodge inheritance tax, Claaarkson is a prime example of it
Do you know any farmers before you come out with that garbage?
Plenty of media coverage for these poor starving millionaires.

We pay taxes.
They are not above taxation and you will be very uncomfortable when the cost of your food goes through the roof as a result of these new taxes
Will they be using red diesel or white while driving around the streets doing no farm work ?

Simple they produce our food.
They should think of the environment and stop driving these fuel guzzling tractors into the centre of London.
Enjoy your antibiotic and growth hormone laden food. You are thick.
How many farmers do you actually know and know personally

@Evening Standard why haven't you edited this podcast so its actually just about the farmer protests?

Farmers do pay their tax….
