- Dune Awakening is an upcoming crafting survival MMO based in the Dune Universe. This game has a lot of information around it being somewhat secluded so I have dug into what information I can find to get a better picture of what to expect!

I've never read Dune or gotten into the movies, but wow. This sounds like a LOT of fun.
I have another quick dune video coming out because even more information was dropped today. Thus far it looks pretty decent!
@CaffeinatedDad do u know if the fremen will be in the game because Google said they didn't want to add it because it might spoil the movies (also sandwalk because they thought it was boring)? I wanted to join the fremen and sandwalk like u could have a skill and learn how to sandwalk

i watched the 2021 movie it was okay not lot of action but it did a good building the lore Im about to watch part 2

This is funcom. Like conan this is going to be good. However this like conan may require a few patches/ dlc passes to get to that point.
I mean as long as they don't rush I think itll be ok at launch but Im sure there will be cracks, most games come out with a few but still are in a great spot!
Joe bylos has come out and said that they are not going to rush the game out, they are going to take their time to get the game out, they also worked very closely with the Herbert estate and also the movie production company
So the map going to be desert and rocks only?
They are apparently taking a more "Arizona desert" approach to dune. I'm currently reading Herbert's work to get a better idea but it seems to be less desolate than the recent movies
The biovaults, I think they are called, can have different biomes in them. Sort of their version of dungeons.

I fully appreciate the people who are upset that this isn't a single player RPG focused title, but comparably I think being able to login every night with your friends to chance a harvest in the spice fields is going to be invaluable.
I don't doubt hardcore PvPers and inevitable player politics will eventually cull the shit out of immersion/success of casual groups under 5 players, but there will still be opportunities there and if they ever cave to private servers except they just throw armies of AI rivals at you, it'll be incredible.
I just don't see a single player RPG capturing the rush of harvesting as much spice as possible with a worm encroaching, without it feeling like a glorified cutscene at best.

This guy needs to do better research.. He mentions one actual class, the Mentat, with just speculation on other classes... but if you watch this th-cam.com/video/PRHBYf45BsQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-40RAQnBRrQnux7o you will see from someone who has actually seen gameplay, that the classes are Mentat, Trooper, Swordmaster and Bene Gesserit Acolyte. He mentions more details than we were given in the Dune Awakening Direct. So many details has me hyped... especially that map sizes he says will be 9 times larger than conan exiles maps, which are already enormous.
From what I've seen I don't think they capture the spirit of the universe so I'm not even going to bother with it. I read the o.g. Frank Herbert series 5 times already. To say that I love them would be an understatement. It may be a good game but it being set in this specific franchise turns me off.
I'm seeing how true that I'd on mu end. I've talked about reading the book so thats what I'm doing now!
How the hell does it turn you off! And it pretty much captured the movie Dune verse pretty well...
@@6Alucard6Tepes6 Did I say anything about the movie? 6 hours of movie does not an universe build. Like I said there are things that miss the mark like: bare armed men in the desert during the day, activities during the day on Arrakis, male bene gesserit, sand vehicles, everyone and their mothers can access tech, space ships, constructing bases in the open, (there should be satellites over the N hemisphere that can track that or if we're playing in the south there should be no spaceships), the amount of offworld activity on the planet, combined armed warfare on Dune?, there should be no shields in the desert and so projectile weapons would be unbalanced, so many resources on the planet to enable everyone to build/survive? Mining? Crafting? More ornithopters than even the fremen would own, ornithopters picking up spice harvesters, it seems that everyone can be whatever mentat, bene gesserit or whatever when these people should be very rare and in the service of the great houses etc. etc.
@iamhatefield and you do know there's fucking over millions of each kind of groups in dune! You act like there's only one of each group! Sure there's only one male super being bene Gesserit which is Paul atreides. Known as Kwisatz Haderach. But anyways point is just either enjoy the fucking game or don't it's that simple either just stick to the fucking books or watch the movies or don't! If you had no interest in anything except for the books then why watch a video about the dune game!
@@6Alucard6Tepes6Because I love Dune I'd like to play a game in the Dune universe but this game is not it. It may as well been called "future Sahara with spice and sand worms". As to what you said, Paul is not Bene Gesserit. He may have been trained in some of their ways by his mother but he is in no way part of their organization. For them men are tools and nothing more. The very few (I can only think of two male Bene Gesserit acolytes: Hasimir Fenring -missing from the movie- and Miles Teg that comes along later on) that do serve their cause aren't privy to any knowledge outside their designated purpose and are viewed as tools. Also they only serve the order. Also also the order only works from the shadows, influencing others. They would never be in the front lines harvesting spice or doing whatever the player is doing on Arrakis.
And lastly, since it seems you find it hard to keep it civilized, I'm just going to ignore any reply coming from you from now on. I don't understand why you are so upset or what you hope to achieve by swearing.
