The USSR lied to Egypt because it was trying to curry favor with the Arab League as part of their geopolitical chess game with the US. It was intentional, and it absolutely blew up in everybody's face. Ironically, it worked out well for the USSR, as something like 80% of the Egyptian Air Force was destroyed and so they needed to rely on the USSR to reconstitute their forces. So, they did get the influence they were trying to cultivate, even though their plan failed.
Israel's military is VERY mobile in terms of decisionmaking. The government sets the strategic objectives, but the military has massive latitude in terms of strategy. Basically, the government tells the military what they want to achieve, but they don't micro-manage how the military leaders go about reaching that goal. Also, their officers are expected to literally lead from the front, so they have a lot of control over micro-level decisions (eg. if you're leading a squad, you are the one kicking down the door, not some private under your command, and so you best be sure which door you kick). The US special forces actually operates on a similar ethos--the political leaders know what they want, but they don't tell the SF how to get it done.

Dayan was the minister of defense, he was not a part of the IDF during this war. So it wasn't a military decision to capture the Golan Heights.

3:45 I think Israel and Ukraine covers up war actions as opposed to most of the west due to the opponents they’re fighting. They really cannot afford to give away too much detail relative to NATO members since they’re fighting opponents on a more even field.

6:20, Korean War I guess? But it was a tie more than a loss. But in modern times, assuming the Myanmar junta loses, I think that’ll be the first time a side with complete air dominance actually loses, though it’s conditional since of course a civil war means a loss of infrastructure and cash to support that air dominance.

Depending on what you define as modern one can say that the italians were absolutely losing even with air dominance against the greeks, and would have probably been kicked out of albania without the germans.
