My daughter loves the Village and it is a much watch for us. I like the ribbon as you put it. Also, you will get your rhythm with the house and perhaps in the future you and your husband can custom build a home the way you both like- ie, windows in the location you like. I think the wall would look great in a dark color. We have a dark walk in our living room. We used Sherwin Williams Color of the Year Urbane Bronze. It looks black sometimes, and dark brown/eggplant tones at others but we love it. And I decorate a lot and I get to the point I'm ready to throw it all out because I'm so tired of decorating. But I love it in the end 🎄❤️
Put an antique stain glass window insert into that big upper window in living room. The gorgeous colors will radiate down into the entry and fill the space with a glorious light show!

Life is full and busy and sometimes everything we want to complete just doesn’t happen. And that’s ok. I’m days away from turning 70 and still love a Christmas explosion. Changing it up is the fun. The sun shines on that one sport, and before to long the painting I had up on the wall started to fade, so be careful what you hang there. Also, a black wall would look gorgeous. Black to match your banister and break up all the white.

When you’re wrapping ribbon in your tree, tuck in in and secure in places like you do when you cascade it. Makes it more intentional and less haphazard. Wrap down at an angle as well.

I love your house! It’s a lot of work to decorate but very rewarding. I like the idea you have of an accent wall and it might take away some of the glare from that window you pointed out. I had a living room similar and the people that had it before painted the room all one color. I spent a week repainting and painted the columns an accent color it turned out beautiful.
While still transitioning from your move I would give yourself some grace & just try to enjoy the season & your family & give yourself a little more time to feel your new space & hkme so when your sitting on the sofa with your hot coco in a relaxed mode then your best inspirations will come to you. Try "transitional", it would go with both your worlds. (I am a retired designer of 38 years). You also love your seasonal decorating, so doing everything in a neutral color pallet to give you a time to change up colors for seasons. I would soften your walls with a warmer white, taupe or beige. Put shutters on your big window in the living room. You probably have been milling around all of this already. You do an amazing job and it will all look beautiful no matter what you do. oh, there is a wonderful designer in England, Sophie Paterson, you would enjoy. She is very transitional. Just for some ideas. Love your channel and admire all your do and are. ❤
