    These women fight harder than most of the men. After 2 rounds most guys are already hugging on each other because they are spent. Haven't really seen them doing that the whole fight, just pure fighting.

    Well, Dodd has heart, but it is hard to win a fight when you can't hit your opponent, because your eyes are closed. Even I noticed that. Carle had much more power behind her punches (and accuracy), and she was relentless.

      Christopher Hicks, the smaller girl who lost is actually stronger than her opponent who won because the winner kept hitting her and hitting her, and yet she was strong enough to take all those hard punches and still keep fighting. Today, I became a big fan of the one who lost. The lady who lost was stronger, but the one who won was a better fighter. Strength is not just measured by how hard you can hit, but most importantly by how big and hard of a blow and how many blows you can take

    • @meldodd4106
      @meldodd4106 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I completely agree that I really need to tighten up on my fundamentals. I’ve just completed my level 1 coaching course funded by England boxing to get more female coaches which has really opened my eyes to what I need to improve on 👏 hopefully inspire young female boxers to get involved in this great sport! I appreciate comments like this rather than ones that just insinuate that I’m s**t.. whilst I’m self Isolating I’m training hard and working on my technique. Getting feedback from my coaches and most importantly self reflecting via videoing myself etc. So trust me. I am going to come back strong after all of this has blown over. Been training hard. I’ve lost a significant amount of weight for my next fight! As for anyone saying Carla is a bra brawler... this is her only second ever boxing bout! She should be very proud of herself! She knows how to put on the pressure and put on a good show to “prove herself” which is what us female boxers have to do to get any recognition! a well deserved win 👏👊

      Marley Xoxo: Thanks for your reply. I didn’t expect either fighter to read my comment, much less reply . . . and both of you did. Cool!
      I try not to be too harsh when it comes to remarks about females. I have two daughters and would not want harsh critical comments to come their way. Even worse (in my opinion) are comments from males about the physical attractiveness or the lack thereof regarding the athletes. It’s not germane to the content of the video or sport.
      That said, I’m glad you’re persevering and training to get better. Good luck to you!

    • @PlaceStillMatters
      @PlaceStillMatters 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Carla the vegan warrior: I didn’t call you or anyone else names. I only remarked on your opponent’s skill level. Critical, yes, but also instructive. Hopefully it leads to improvement.
      It’s true, I’ve never stepped foot in a ring, but I’ve watched combat sports for the better part of four decades and have picked up a few things along the way. If you think I was unfair then I apologize.
      I wish you a long, successful career in this sport!

      I will I promise and in 1994 I entered a power lifting match in Pensacola Florida and placed in the top 100 strongest people on earth but have got old since,,haha,,I love your determination in this match and Im telling you when you learn to through a better punch you will be dangerous, throw a little Karate or Taek in on the deal and will help a lot but learn defense first dear little lady,,also my son and I both are black belt in Taekwondo and could teach you a thing or 2,,,have a great day.

      snowmangsx1100 wow that’s so impressive!! 😱 well done!!! I’ve just gone amateur with a great local team with great success rate, who have some amazing coaches and opportunities for their girls at the club! So I’m very excited to see what the future holds 🙌

    A boxing match in an mma cage

    • @meldodd4106
      @meldodd4106 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hence the confusion and hits against the cage! Least in MMA someone can go into a grapple against a cage! And Boxing you can’t lean, you can’t do the right head movement your used to. It ain’t right.. right? 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ but that’s unlicensed boxing for you!

      Mel Dodd phaha, in a boxing ring you can’t run away like you did in that fight so you would be 100% destroyed

    • @finlayhunter881
      @finlayhunter881 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The size of that cage saved your life ngl

    • @meldodd4106
      @meldodd4106 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Finlay Hunter your opinion, but unless you’ve been in my position, never been in a cage before then get in a position when your up against one, it’s very different. Boxing is made for a ring. 👍 hence why I’m going to stick to one going forward as an amateur 😊

    • @meldodd4106
      @meldodd4106 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I ran because I had no idea what to do when I was against the cage, which is a lot different than ropes, I’ve gotten a lot better and lost over 10kg since then, did boxing coaching course, spared with pros. Gone amateur with a great club with many success stories, so no more running away in cages 😂

    Poor Dodd, completely outclassed. Lot of grit though.
    She can take it and maybe with some better training she will improve?

    Everytime Carla got in close and started her hooking combos (which was very often) she was so open for a well placed upper cut. The other lady's coach needs to step it up.

    8:57 "Dodds is discombobulated". I don't understand this technical boxing jargon. Sorry.
