    Wow, surprising that they get stiffer as they get cheaper. I've thought high stiffness was a feature more advanced players are looking for, so higher-end models would be stiffer to tailor for that.

    • @itsssssjohnny

      It’s never any stiffer when you go down to the play models. The rexis shaft on the tour models has a slightly stiffer feel but the difference is so small and negligible.

      Don't overestimate yourself.i will recommend for the beginner ,the amateur player or the player who doesn't have enough strengh and skills for the powerfull or high quality smashing,because the player have no need the high quality skills and "speedy" for playing.if you wish for "very powerfull" smashing or "speedy" gaming and you are pro player ,you should pick other racket.the feature of the as-77 is good handling exprience for players ,that why the professonal single player love the pro version ,it's easy handling when facing the various situation in single game .especially,the female single professional players.

    Could you maybe make a video about racquet features? how does one feature impacts the performance of the racquet. I.E. recessed half of the way on the racquet head, what does it do, recessed top and bottom, what does it do, long and short shafts what does it do, smaller and normal and big racquet head, what does it do, etc etc. It'll be much appreciated as I always hear this features mention in your videos but always thought, "but why and how does it affect it" and i'm sure there is someone out there thinking the same. Cheers

  • @HuyNguyen-tf3zo
    @HuyNguyen-tf3zo ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Probably the shorter shaft (0.5cm shorter) is the reason why the tour version feels stiffer than the pro version. But it is still strange that the pro version is less stiff than the cheaper version.

    What I also remember you saying on your review of the 77 pro was that if you already had an Astrox 77 it really wasn’t worth the money to upgrade because the upgrade was so negligible.

    • @mdth2012
      @mdth2012 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      afaik, 77 pro is mostly compared to the old 77 red, and it's not even an upgrade, the feel is completely different. Now 77 pro is mostly treated as a replacement for the original 88S, which is used mostly in front court while still retaining some degree of attack power. In my case, I switched from 77 blue (which was a bit geared toward defensive play) to 77 pro, and I think that they are quite similar in my use case (mostly drops, clears, blocks in front, few smashes).

    • @jonburton1935
      @jonburton1935 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally prefer my Astrox 77 over my 77 pro.
      But CK did say in his video on the Astrox 77 pro that this upgrade really wasn’t worth it. I personally only got a 77 pro because I couldn’t get a 77 anymore and I needed a spare racket

      @@mdth2012different colours of the 77 have different performance? Can you explain?

    • @mdth2012
      @mdth2012 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@cronchapfsds957 I think the feels between different colors are a bit different, since 2 of those are the original and the other one was a newer version. I cannot find any comprehensive source in english, but in the badminton community over here, they are usually regarded as such:
      - yellow is the most geared toward attacking with best clears and smashes due to higher balance point
      - red is the most balanced and best for control/front-court attacking
      - blue is not that popular but I think it's easier to defend with it than with red, either because it's less stiff or it's less head-heavy
      Also, the specs might be not be the same even between 2 rackets of the same color, so just take this as some extra info.

    I have both the Pro and the Tour with me now, and I find them very different spec-wise (both were from Direct Badminton).
    My 77 Pro is head heavy while the Tour feel almost even-balanced. Handle length is the same on both, but the Tour's got a bigger frame (same size as the new Arcsaber frame). Shaft stiffness is about the same, but because of it's lighter head, the Tour's shaft feel stiffer.

    I never had a Yonex racket before. Currently using N7ii and 3D Calibar 600c. I just want to move to the Yonex racket and recently bought a 77 Play, but it is not smooth for me, always miss the jab and soft touches. I am mostly playing double looking for more mid/backcourt control. Now torn between Astrox 77 Pro or 100z or Nanoflare 800 Pro. Any suggestion?

    • @yichenchen9410

      I suggest the 77pro (if you want yonex), if you think you cannot even handle 77 play, don't even think about 100zz and 800 pro.
      I had tested many different rackets, ranging from stuff like Volant, babolat, kawasaki, to yonex and lining. I would say, yonex does feel nice, but I honestly think they are too expensive.

    Hi CK, ive recently started playing again after quite a few years off. Id say im at an intermediate level...torn between the 88D game and the 77 tour. Do you have any preference between the two?

    • @yourleftlung8762
      @yourleftlung8762 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi, astrox 88d game is a very great racket for its price point, good power, and very user friendly, medium stiff, so you still can get good control with it and still helps you to generate more power. never tried astorx 77 tour, so i can't help you with the review. However, based on the astrox 88d tour that i tried, there is not much difference between the two, so i will go for the cheaper option, which is the game model. if you have the budget i recommend going for the pro, but the game or tour model is enough to give you good feedback.

      @CaptaiinPancakez ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yourleftlung8762 thanks! I was staying away from the pro variants purely because I thought they were harder to use, is that the case? I thought the stiffer frame would rely more on technique and the game/ tour models are more user friendly. Appreciate the advice!

      I bought the Nextage a month ago. I love it for singles but it's a tad too head heavy for me in doubles. I found myself blocking a lot more shuttles at the rim because I was a tad slower than what I'm used to with medium balanced rackets.
      If I were to go back in time I would try to get either the 77 tour or even the 11 tour since they're a bit more balanced. Honestly I would lean a bit more towards the 11 since personally I realised I don't need the extra power from the head heavy racket at all. Also my club doesn't really have room for singles :(

      77 tour if you play doubles mostly. It’s fast and flexible . I would rate it like this; speed: 77 tour> 100 tour> 99 tour while power: 99 tour> 100 tour> 77 tour. So pick 77 tour or 100 tour. 99 tour is only suitable for singles.

      @@zachmerryweather805 Might as well go with Arcsaber 11 Tour for doubles.

    Sometimes I don't really trust the Medium flex that Yonex said 🥲
    For example, even though it is both medium but the 77 Pro felt quite stiff compares to the Nanoflare 700
