He never went to art school? Didn't he literally talk about going to Nasson College and learning the fundamental skills of art in his deposition in the Cariou v. Prince lawsuit? I distinctly remember him talking about his education in that deposition.

Absolutely riveting lecture! RP is an artist who bring intelligence, radically, historical awareness and depth to work that might superficially look insubstantial on the surface.

      @@Saints2024 Yes, that's exactly why he's such a well-regarded artist.

How can you get famous from stealing other talented artists work, it's incredible Richard is presenting at such a highly regarded talk.

This discussion was poorly visually/nonverbally captured. Institutional integrity demands better camera angles, close-ups, & full-screens shots of the presentation, especially to help off-set a monotone guest.

nate franklin. That would be fun, but plenty of pros are already there.

Agreed.. & monotone is being polite.
Pro-tip: play at 1.5x speed or higher.
I'm a fan of RP, but damn.. 😴

I like his work but what a weird talk.

Don't know how I feel about his work; at times his work is both cool and uncool.

art is in neither "margin". you cant put a cool art piece next to an "uncool" art piece. a true artist never looks at life or art in that juxtaposition. & if you don't understand. stop. gravitating towards art or artists because they're "cool"

"bland comment, um, bland comment, um..." no wonder he copies other people's work. he literally has no voice
