If you haven't you should do a video about the Katanaboy 650, and 1000! =D I've got the 650, its really a great saw! cuts through trees....like literal trees. Helped me a couple days ago do a -9c campout with a siberian log fire that lasted and kept me warm for about 10 hours! the 1000 just looks like a homesteaders dream saw!
@@HalfInsaneOutdoorGuy Yes, we did a survival course and showed us trying all the Katanas in that video. Also made one on all the specs of the katanas. th-cam.com/video/OfehzZ4l8ZM/w-d-xo.html
@@SILKYsaw Good video! I've had the 650 for almost 2 years now. Even when I go out on a "day camp" and pack light, its really hard to leave it behind...I actually feel guilty, like somehow the saw is feeling left out...lol. j/k. But seriously, I use my saws so much more than any other tool I have.
@@HalfInsaneOutdoorGuy Thank you! They are incredible saws and it can be so hard to choose just one of the trip lol! But I am sure the Katanaboy would understand🤪
@@SILKYsaw lol. Got my Sugawaza today. I have to say i'll probably be searching for an alternate sheath. The zubat's is much much better. =) But this thing is a BEAST Of a cutter! Going to take it and my gomboy 300 out this weekend to work on my bushcraft base camp =)
Hi, you could cut up to about 32-5cms in my opinion. You are really only limited by the length of the blade. Due to the hook, you need a little space for the blade to move. 😊
Regarding sharpening, i DO NOT recommend a file. Even a fine tooth file is too course, much easier and faster to use a diamond grit sharpening that has a slim profile. Much smoother, and much easier to get a fine point on the teeth. Also, diamond actually can sharpen the hardened saw teeth as well, though depending on how deep the hardening goes, you may loose the hardening.
Awesome! A Silky Saw with a cross-guard on the hilt! So, when will it be Pirate's Day at Arrrr-borlab? Thank you for another fine and hearrrty video on yet another great Silky Sawwwrrr! 😆🗡🏴☠️⛵️💀😄
@@SILKYsaw 😂 Yes, good point! Perhaps plundering celebrations with free-flowing rum, ale, wine, raucous humour & high spirits, combined with a store full of Silky saws and axes, may not be the best OH&S combination! 🤔😱🤣
Start your morning with this video. The amount of pep and smiles will tell your brain it is time to live.
Thank you! 😁
i thought the saw was interesting until i see mama doing the demo. im in love
Awesome thorough review! I think I found my "Saber Saw"!.
Glad you found it helpful 😃

Hello! Huge fan of silky! What max diameter log would you recommend me using this saw on?

I used to fill up on chips too but I had to cut back on salt.
😅
Great video. I hope you saved that fatwood core. :)
