What a loving daughter you have to gift you a trip to London! Last fall, I like you, had that enchanted look on my face while visiting F&M for several hours. What a hoot to view all the teas/strainers, biscuits, toast holders, etc.--plus floors of Christmas decor. Needed a nap afterwards. One of many highlights of a London visit. Thanks for sharing.
My Friday wasn’t the same without you, you were missed. What a super trip, especially making wonderful memories with your daughter, well deserved. Welcome back❣️
We missed you last week but what a FABULOUS trip. Thank you for sharing the time with your daughter with us. Looking forward to next weeks review. Adding both books to my list.
What a glorious trip Mary. Special memories for you and your daughter to treasure! So happy for you, and thank you so much for sharing bits of your trip. ❤️
Oh my, Mary! What a fabulous trip! 😮 Wish I could have tagged along! You visited some of my favorite places I've longed to visit. I noticed Nina Campbell's business among those you passed. Have you reviewed any of her books? I dont recall seeing any by her. I have 3 of her books. I prefer her earlier work showcased in the first 2. It is a more traditional English Country Home style. I know designers have to grow weary of the same thing, so they grow & try new ideas, BUT I the classic style. Her books were the first interior designer books I purchased. I fell in love with her style after seeing some of her work on the pages of English Home Magazine. Thanks, or no thanks (😂) to you, my collection has increased! My other favorite author of English Design is Ros Bym Shaw. Thank you a million times over for sharing your trip. Can't wait to see more next time! 😊
Thanks so much for sharing your trip with us, I look forward to more next week. The work of Flora Soames is so layered and nuanced, it spoke to me in a way that made me look at my surroundings, and feel that I'd accidentally achieved something similar. I guess you could call me the accidental decorator, a good title if I put out a book.
Wow 🤩 What a beautiful experience, so happy for the two of you. I wish I could fly again, I lost the courage to get on a plane:( Beautiful like always, welcome back and see next week ❤
I was so happy to see your new video up - I went into withdrawal last week! These pictures are so pretty, can’t wait to get the book. I’m an Anglophile who has never been to England, so I really enjoyed seeing moments from your trip. Thank you for another awesome book share! (P.S. Thought you might come home wearing some new English jewelry 😉)
OMG!! I’ve been wanting to go to F&M forever. I really want to buy one of their tea services. It looks like you had a grand time. It’s so beautiful it seems from the video. I can definitely see some resemblance between Winston Churchill and the young woman who wrote the book.
Hi Mary ! welcome home .. you were missed ! Looks like you and your daughter had a grand time in jolly ole England ! I dream about going to visit again ,yes just a dream lol ! I look forward to hearing more about your time in London. The One Day Box looks like a lovely book !! Blessings & hugs Paula
What a lovely gift from your daughter. Thanks so much for sharing some of your London trip. I enjoy your channel so very much. I love and appreciate beautiful things, no matter whether they are mine or someone else’s. I love to dream.
I so enjoyed this video! I sat here just enchanted! I am ordering this book immediately. I already have the Classical Shindig book and enjoyed it so much I only allowed myself to read one small chapter at a time to take it all in and make the experience last. Your channel is my favorite one on TH-cam and I look forward to it each Friday.
Thank you for sharing ypur trip to London with us! What a sweet daughter to give you such a perfect gift!🤗 I like your style! Amazing places to shop! I can't.wait to visit, hopefully soon. How were the 3 great design shops you visit? They are on my target list!❤
Robert Kime's shop was like looking in a museum. The antiques and fabrics were all stunning. The people working there were friendly and beyond helpful. Nina Campbell was similar to an American home goods shop with interior designers and bespoke items available. Chelsea Textiles had wonderful fabrics (as did all the shops) but they also had some fine antiques.
I was looking for your video last Friday, then I remembered, "She's in England". It sounds as though you had a good time with your daughter. My daughter usually gifts me with a Fortnum and Mason hamper for Christmas and other occasions. Never mind at all getting those.
Oh how exciting, visiting London is always an adventure, the trip was a very thoughtful gift from your daughter. Shopping 🛍️ first! London has the most amazing shops and Department Stores, even if I can’t afford most items I still enjoy looking. 😊
Thank you Mary for taking us along in your travels. It was so beautiful and can't wait to hear more next week. I surely missed you last week and glad you are back! The book review was nice with lots of red even though I am not a red color type person. Smart kitty ~ :0) See ya next week...amen.
Thank you for watching. I know what you mean about the red. It's all in the shade, some are more palatable than others. By the way...sometimes I think the cat is smarter than me.
Before I sat down to watch this video, I made a cup-a tea, it’s early morning here in Australia, with one I had bought in Fortnum and Mason from my last trip… and then you showed Fortnum and Mason! Oh my goodness, I knew you would likely show something of London but that store this morning! I am looking forward to the next book review also. This one was so beautiful and I’m very tempted to order it. Love English style so much. It’s livable and comforting. Thanks so much for sharing.
Favorite child airlines! 😂 Also love your cat's attempted sabotage of your trip. How cute. Thanks for this review, I love Flora's house. You could put her picture in the dictionary next to the word taste. That dahlia wallpaper paired with the red stripe curtains and gold accents, so bold and vibrant and classy! Also the Pierre Frey wallpaper in her bedroom is gorgeous as is Her headboard curtain, I copied this idea in mine 😊
wow! What an amazing trip to London, thank you for sharing great impressions. The book in this video I feel tempted to order.... and I am looking forward to the next one you found in London.
I can imagine it is especially beautiful at Christmas. The tour of Westminster and St. George’s Chapel brought me to tears. I don’t know if my heart could take it at Christmas. 🏴🇬🇧
I had to stop half way watching this as soon as I heard you say “You were gifted this” . To describe the incredibly generous gift your daughter gave you at Christmas. It surprised me to hear you use this term Americans have adopted but I must point out Mary the flaw in using it. You are not gifted a trip to England, you are GIVEN. Someone playing the violin or painting a picture is gifted. Someone with a talent, is gifted. hate to point out the difference to you, I thought you and all your follower’s to be interested to know (especially having just been to England! )💕
@@thetartantopiary You both are right. Seems in Mary's case, 'gifted' ~ the act, right or power of giving...which her daughter did. That glass is always 1/2 full.
I'll share more of London next week!

It was, just as you said, "enchanting". The history and magnificence that store holds is a delight!

Thank you for your kind words. I did enjoy the trip, but I’m also glad to be back.
You were missed! I hope you had a wonderful Easter. Looking forward to seeing more of you in London next week. Welcome home!
Thank you so much! We did have a wonderful Easter and I hope you did too!
We missed you last week but what a FABULOUS trip. Thank you for sharing the time with your daughter with us. Looking forward to next weeks review. Adding both books to my list.
Thank you, we did have a wonderful trip. I haven't walked that much in a long time! Thanks for watching and I hope you are doing well.
What a beautiful gift your daughter gave you. Even though we missed you last week, I just know you both had a marvelous time!
What a glorious trip Mary. Special memories for you and your daughter to treasure! So happy for you, and thank you so much for sharing bits of your trip. ❤️

Mary, your hands and nails are beautiful. Love your book reviews and the extra fun things you add. Your voice is so soothing. Hugs from Texas
Hugs in return. You are kind to say that. My hands are showing their age but they have served me well. Thanks for watching!

Two of my cats didn't even know I was gone. One sat by the door everyday waiting for me to return. Thanks for watching

A hamper from F & M is quite a lovely gift to receive. Their shipping is shockingly quick too.
Thank you for sharing these books❤
Thanks for watching!
Very relaxing and soothing...loved it! Love from Saint Lucia

It was a very thoughtful gift. You are right about the shops; I was completely content just walking through them.
What a lovely holiday. Thank you for including your fans. It was so interesting and inspiring ❤
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!

wow! What an amazing trip to London, thank you for sharing great impressions. The book in this video I feel tempted to order.... and I am looking forward to the next one you found in London.
Thank you- Believe or not the next one I found in London was at Nina Campbell's shop and it is written by 2 Americans.
My home town❤ I really must go home for a holiday. Thanks for sharing.
We had so much fun! The history it holds is palpable!
❤
Did you buy a corgi in your pottery you collect?
Mary, isn’t London fun? Please go back at Christmas on a future trip. It’s even more magical around the holidays.
I can imagine it is especially beautiful at Christmas. The tour of Westminster and St. George’s Chapel brought me to tears. I don’t know if my heart could take it at Christmas. 🏴🇬🇧

Gifted is a past participle, and the simple past tense of "to gift".
