      Niqab is fardh.
      Hadith - Bukhari 6:282
'Aisha(R.A.) used to say: "When (the Verse): 'They should draw their veils over their necks and bosoms,' was revealed, (the ladies) cut their waist sheets at the edges and covered their faces with the cut pieces."
The verse which was revealed addressed both the prophets wives, the prophets daughters, and all the women of the ummah to cover.
So if the wives covered their faces after that verse was revealed, their daughters did too and so did the women of the ummah. ❤️

If ALLAH PAAK actually wants the face to be covered than he would had directly written on the QURAN the punishment of not covering face as he had written punishments on not covering body. And if he had not written punishments on not covering face than obviously he will not punish us on not covering face. As simple as that. What is there to argue on that.

My Question to all those who say "it is a must to cover the face" ... Tell me why would Allah ask women to remove the veil during Hajj?
Yes it is better to cover than to not but it can't be compulsory if neither Khimar nor Jilbab mean face covering.

    • @peachy7586
      @peachy7586 5 ปีที่แล้ว +32

During hajj women should cover their face too, from the non-mahrams. It's just the veil should not touch the face and the skin.
And the covering is Fadh. Your personal preference can not change what is fixed.

It is absolutely mandatory to cover the face.
Please read the verse 24/31. It is clearly stated "AND DO NOT SHOW THEIR ADORNMENT EXCEPT" appearing twice in that verse.
      وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا
      1) Do not show their adornment except _for certain body parts_
      2) Do not show their adornment except _to the given list of people_
Both the above statements are _inclusively_ used in the verse. So in other words it is like saying
Do Not Show Their Adornment Except For The Face And Hands *_And_* To Their Husbands, Their Fathers, [Their Mehrams, Etc]
this is supported by numerous hadiths which include narrations of Ayesha r.anha

This is a matter witch the scholars have differed since from the time of companions until now. A person is free to choose whichever view they are convinced and there is no condemnation. However, according to the vast majority of the classical scholars the most strongest view is that Niqab is NOT mandatory. This view is backed by many textual proofs from the incidents of the lifetime of prophet (saw) where women used to show their face and hands & this has been the majority view.
      For example, Ibn Kathir states:
Tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their chastity and not expose their beauty, except that which is apparent.
      Surat al-Nur 24:31
Allah has commanded believing women to conceal their beauty ‘except that which is apparent’ or what normally appears in daily life. Several of the companions and early Muslims interpreted this statement to include her face and hands.
      Ibn Kathir reported:
Ibn Abbas said regarding the verse, ‘Except that which is
apparent,’ means her face, her hands, and her rings. Similar narrations were reported from Ibn Umar, Ata’, ‘Ikramah, Sa’id ibn Jubayr, Abu al-Sha’tha, Al-Dahhak, and Ibrahim al-Nakha’i.
      [Source: Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr 24:31]
      And then he writes:
      وَهَذَا هُوَ الْمَشْهُورُ عِنْدَ الْجُمْهُورِ
This is the well-known opinion of the majority.
*Please refer to the Arabic version of Ibn Kathir as the English version is an abridgement and has omitted this vital information.
And according to the Kuwaiti Encyclopedia of Islamic Law:
The majority of jurists, including the Hanafis, Malikis, Shafi’is, and Hanbalis, maintain that a woman’s face is not considered nakedness. If it is not nakedness, then she may cover it with the face-veil or uncover it and not wear the face-veil.
      Source: [al-Mawsū’at al-Fiqhīyah al-Kuwaytīyah 41/134]
As for proof for those who permit showing face and hands, among the proof they use :
[1] Hadith on Hijab: Modest woman only reveals her face,
      hands
      :
Aisha reported: Asma’ bint Abi Bakr entered the house of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while she was wearing a thin garment and she showed it to him. The Prophet said, “O Asma, when a woman reaches the age of maturity, it is not proper for her to show anything but this and this,” and the Prophet pointed to his face and hands.
      [Source: Sunan Abī Dāwūd 4104
, Grade: Hasan li ghayri (fair due to external evidence) according to Al-Albani]
[2] Hadith on Hijab: Adult women must pray be wearing their veils without the need of covering their face
      :
Aisha reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The prayer of a menstruating woman is not accepted unless she wears a veil,” by which he meant an adult woman.
Al-Tirmidhi said, “This is acted upon by the people of knowledge, that when a woman prays and some of her hair is uncovered, her prayer is not permissible; it is the opinion of Al-Shafi’i. He said it is not permissible for a woman to pray if some of her body is uncovered. He also said that some say if her uncovered feet are shown, her prayer is permissible.”
      Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 377
Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Albani
Ibn Taymiyyah said, “As for covering that in prayer, it is not obligatory by consensus of the Muslims. Rather, it is permissible for her to uncover the face and hands in prayer according to the majority of scholars such as Abu Hanifa, Al-Shafi’i, and others including one of two narrations from Ahmad. Likewise, it is permissible for her to uncover the feet according to Abu Hanifa and this is the stronger opinion.”
      [Source: Majmū’ al-Fatāwá 22/114
      ]
This is regardless whether they are praying indoors or in the masjid.
[3] Women were seen with their face open in the masjid:
For instance, once while the prophet (saw) was admonishing and preaching to a group of women after having admonished the men on the Id day, "...a woman having a dark spot on her cheek stood up..." seeking clarification on the subject the prophet was discussing.
[Source: Sahih Muslim, Vol. 2, Hadith No. 1926]
[4] Women in the state of Ihram should NOT cover their face & hands :
The Prophet (saw) is reported to have said, "...The Muhrima (a woman in the state of Ihram) should not cover her face, or wear gloves."
[Source: Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 3, Hadith No. 1838]
If women’s face covering was part of requirement for the hijab in public, why would the prophet (saw) order Muslim women to have their face and hands uncovered in the public, in the state of ihram in the presence of hundreds or thousands men.
As for hadith: - the Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin: Riders would pass us when we accompanied the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) while we were in the sacred state (wearing ihram). When they came by us, one of us would let down her outer garment from her head over her face, and when they had passed on, we would uncover our faces.
[Source: Abu Dawood Book 32, Hadith # 4091]
      The scholarly response is:
This hadith does not include evidence on the obligation of wearing niqab because the actions of the companions are not proof that something is an obligation. Moreover, the niqab may have been specific to the Mothers of Believers (the Prophet's wives) like the ruling that forbade them to marry after the Prophet's death.
[5] Woman showing face on Farewell Hajj
In the chapter of Hajj - the story of Faḍl, which took took place in Dhu'l-Hijja of 10 A.H on the Farewell Hajj:
Ibn Abbas reported: Al-Fadl was riding with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and a woman from Khash’am came. Al-Fadl began to stare at her and she stared at him. The Prophet made Al-Fadl turn his face in the other direction.
      [Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1442, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1334]
      In Sunan An-Nasa’i
Ibn 'Abbas(ra) narrated that: A woman from Khath'am asked the Messenger of Allah a question during the Farewell Pilgrimage, when Al-Fadl bin 'Abbas was riding behing the Messenger of Allah She said: "O Messenger of Allah! The command of Allah has come for His slaves to perform Hajj, but my father is an old man and cannot sit upright in the saddle. Will it be paid off on his behalf if I perform Hajj on his behalf? " The Messenger of Allah said to her: "Yes." And Al-Fadl started to turn toward her, as she was a beautiful woman, but the Messenger of Allah took hold of Al-Fadl's face and turned it to the other side.
      [Sunan an-Nasa'i 2642, Grade Sahih]
Scholars say that despite this incident of beautiful woman in her hijab with the face exposed, the prophet (pbuh) did NOT order her to cover her face, rather He (pbuh) instructed Fadl lower his gaze.

Niqaab is that with which a woman veils her face (tantaqib)…
The difference between hijaab and niqaab is that the hijaab is that which covers all the body, whilst niqaab is that which covers a woman’s face only.
The woman’s dress as prescribed in sharee’ah (“Islamic dress”) is that which covers her head, face and all of her body.
But the niqaab or burqa’ - which shows the eyes of the woman - has become widespread among women, and some of them do not wear it properly. Some scholars have forbidden wearing it on the grounds that it is not Islamic in origin, and because it is used improperly and people treat it as something insignificant, demonstrating negligent attitudes towards it and using new forms of niqaab which are not prescribed in Islam, widening the opening for the eyes so that the cheeks, nose and part of the forehead are also visible.
Therefore, if the woman’s niqaab or burqa’ does not show anything but the eyes, and the opening is only as big as the left eye, as was narrated from some of the salaf, then that is permissible, otherwise she should wear something which covers her face entirely.
Shaykh Muhammad al-Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
The hijaab prescribed in sharee’ah means that a woman should cover everything that it is haraam for her to show, i.e., she should cover that which it is obligatory for her to cover, first and foremost of which is the face, because it is the focus of temptation and desire.
A woman is obliged to cover her face in front of anyone who is not her mahram (blood relative to whom marriage is forbidden). From this we learn that the face is the most essential thing to be covered. There is evidence from the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and the views of the Sahaabah and the imams and scholars of Islam, which indicates that women are obliged to cover all of their bodies in front of those who are not their mahrams.
    Fataawa al-Mar’ah al-Muslimah, 1/ 391, 392)
Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan (may Allaah preserve him) said:
The correct view as indicated by the evidence is that the woman’s face is ‘awrah which must be covered. It is the most tempting part of her body, because what people look at most is the face, so the face is the greatest ‘awrah of a woman. This is in addition to the shar’i evidence which states that it is obligatory to cover the face.
For example, Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent (like both eyes for necessity to see the way, or outer palms of hands or one eye or dress like veil, gloves, headcover, apron), and to draw their veils all over Juyoobihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms)…”
    [al-Noor 24:31]
Drawing the veil all over the juyoob implies covering the face.
When Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) was asked about the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):
“O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies”
    [al-Ahzaab 33:59] -
he covered his face, leaving only one eye showing. This indicates that what was meant by the aayah was covering the face. This was the interpretation of Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) of this aayah, as narrated from him by ‘Ubaydah al-Salmaani when he asked him about it.
In the Sunnah there are many ahaadeeth, such as: the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The woman in ihraam is forbidden to veil her face (wear niqaab) or to wear the burqa’.” This indicates that when women were not in ihraam, women used to cover their faces.
This does not mean that if a woman takes off her niqaab or burqa’ in the state of ihraam that she should leave her face uncovered in the presence of non-mahram men. Rather she is obliged to cover it with something other than the niqaab or burqa’, on the evidence of the hadeeth of ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) who said: “We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in ihraam, and when men passed by us, we would lower the khimaar on our heads over our faces, and when they moved on we would lift it again.”
Women in ihraam and otherwise are obliged to cover their faces in front of non-mahram men, because the face is the center of beauty and it is the place that men look at… and Allaah knows best.
    Fataawa al-Mar’ah al-Muslimah, 1/396, 397
    He also said:
It is OK to cover the face with the niqaab or burqa’ which has two openings for the eyes only, because this was known at the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and because of necessity. If nothing but the eyes show, this is fine, especially if this is customarily worn by women in her society.
    Fataawa al-Mar’ah al-Muslimah, 1/399
    And Allaah knows best.

From what I understand, the first Quran verse given is a misrepresentation because Juyoob is from the root words for things and neck and neckline and is most commonly translated as bosom. Understood to be instructing the women to draw their head coverings across their chests so it covers the neckline properly because this used to be kind of loosely done

    • @Bushra-uu3fo
      @Bushra-uu3fo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Also the Prophet SAW’s wives were given a separate order to not talk to non-mehram men except behind a veil in a separate Quranic verse. And it can be understood this may not apply to other women because it says (words to the nearest effect)’O wives of the Prophet, you are not like other women so…’ shortly before the order. This means narrations of the Prophet SAW’s wives covering their faces may not prove niqab (at least in my view)

    • @Bushra-uu3fo
      @Bushra-uu3fo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

And saying that some women used to cover their faces, as indicated by the order to not wear the niqab during Ihram, also doesn’t prove that covering is necessary as this could be a cultural thing done by some by not others e.g., against the heat or sand or as fashioning the time

Have any non-mehram ever seen any wife of Hazrat Muhammad SM after the revelation of covering oneself!???
A funny question - have you guys ever seen Zakir naik's wife!???
When we say someone you are beautiful; we simply say it by looking at their beautiful face... Woman cover themselves to cover their beauty from the non-mehrams ... Now if a woman make his face all open and cover other .. what is she really doing then!!!!
Learning about hadith is hard...cause there are many hadith for example ...there might be some Hadith about woman before the revelation of covering oneself... And some Hadith after the revelation of covering oneself.
To learn the correct explanation of Hadith go to a Mufti; or a Muhadis..

Here I strongly disagree with Dr. Naik as in the Qur'an, surah nur, ayah 31, allah says,.... except that which appears thereof... Means anything that can't be covered by jilbab/ abaya. Like your body shape, you're thin or fat, or when you walk your feet can be shown unintentionally, or when you give or accept anything, your shape of the fingers can be assumed outside the gloves. These are which you can not hide. Thus This is not a sin as you're trying your best. By this ayah doesn't mean you don't have to cover your face. The first thing that attracts anyone is the FACE. IRON MAN Where does it say in the quran that it is fard for women to cover their face? Allah says in surat al ahzab - يا ايها النبي قل لأزواجك وبناتك ونساء المؤمنين يدنين عليهن من جلابيبهن ذلك ادنى ان يعرفن فلا يؤذين. The word niqab or face covering is not mentioned in the aya. Secondly, allah ordered both the men and women in surat al noor to lower their gaze from each other. How can a man lower his gaze from a woman if her face is covered? Thirdly, the word used in that aya is خمورهن. A khimar in arabic literally translates to head cover because al rasool sallah allah 3aleyhi wa salam said in an authentic hadith : Allah doesn’t accept the prayer of a mature woman (as in any girl who has reached the age of puberty) unless she wears the khimar.

      covering the face obligatory?
You should note that women’s observing hijab in front of non-mahram men and covering their faces is something that is obligatory as is indicated by the Book of your Lord and the Sunnah of your Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and by rational examination and analogy.
Evidence for covering the face from the Quran
      · Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent (like both eyes for necessity to see the way, or outer palms of hands or one eye or dress like veil, gloves, headcover, apron), and to draw their veils all over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces , necks and bosoms) and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband’s fathers, or their sons, or their husband’s sons, or their brothers or their brother’s sons, or their sister’s sons, or their (Muslim) women (i.e. their sisters in Islam), or the (female) slaves whom their right hands possess, or old male servants who lack vigour, or small children who have no sense of feminine sex. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And all of you beg Allah to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful.” [al-Nur 24:31]
The evidence from this verse that hijab is obligatory for women is as follows:
      1. Allah commands the believing women to guard their chastity, and the command to guard their chastity is also a command to follow all the means of doing that. No rational person would doubt that one of the means of doing so is covering the face, because uncovering it causes people to look at it and enjoy its beauty, and then to initiate contact. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The eyes commit zina and their zina is by looking…” then he said, “… and the private part confirms that or denies it.” Narrated by al-Bukhari, 6612; Muslim, 2657.
If covering the face is one of the means of guarding one’s chastity, then it is enjoined, because the means come under the same ruling as the ends.
      2. Allah says (interpretation
